like. kink is such a common way to deal with trauma and it’s literally like fine. it is not inherently unhealthy- it can be, but so can everything. but like every way of dealing with trauma that isn’t crying about it and never getting better is demonised. kink. expressing it in art. advocacy for better treatment and awareness. setting boundaries. either we're cute and docile and sad uwu or we don’t show trauma at all and have no coping strategies at all to do so. else we need to be Fixed and have our coping mechanisms taken away because we're the Bad Trauma Victim. it’s so fucking dumb.

Please go watch Sex Explained on Netflix. Not only is it a great resource for the basic sex education that is sorely lacking in the U.S., but some of ya’ll need to take a deep breath and remember the difference between fantasy vs reality. This purity culture thing that we’re going through right now is directly harmful to responsible, healthy sexual expression. BTW this woman, Lisa Diamond, is a noted psychologist and has been pushing for greater understanding of womens sexuality as a whole.

So, re: my theory about why pro/ship community accounts are getting terminated and those terminations are being upheld.

Remember when they changed the terms of service in November to include illustrations and text about minors in sexual situations?

and we all kind of assumed it didn't actually mean what we thought it meant, meanwhile antis were celebrating how they could now report pro/shippers?

Harm to Minors. Don't post or solicit content that features the abuse of a minor, that includes suggestive or sexual content involving a minor or anyone that appears to be a minor, or that facilitates or promotes child sexual abuse. "Content" may include photos of real individuals, illustrations, animation, or text. Posting or reblogging child sexual abuse material is a serious crime for which we have no tolerance. We report all such instances to child protection organizations and law enforcement around the world, including the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

The evidence suggests that not only does the wording mean exactly what it suggests it means, but they are enforcing it widely, to the extent that discussing your own CSA is considered a termable offense.

And surprise surprise, what had I posted about the other day before our latest account got termed? Our experience with our bio-dad's grooming.

If you report people who:

*Are trying to heal by talking about their experience, or even trying to help others feel less alone by letting another person know that they have also suffered

*Create and post properly tagged fiction or art to work through their trauma (YES, this IS in fact a therapist-approved method of healing)

Then you are actively silencing CSA survivors and victims of child abuse. You are not sanitizing a space. You are not making it 'safe'. You are doing THE COMPLETE FUCKING OPPOSITE.

And by doing this, you are not 'protecting' anyone except for THE ABUSERS.

I don't fucking care if seeing any of the above makes you 'uncomfy'. You can avoid seeing this stuff by blocking/filtering the tags. If it is untagged, simply ask OP to tag it and they likely will.

But for fuck's sake, DO NOT report people who are trying to overcome what was likely the most traumatic event of their life.
