When the Party all turn 21, Steve throws a party at his house.
El has been back in their lives for about a year now after spending about four years traveling across Europe on her own. Like the rest of the Party, she's grown up a lot. She's more outspoken and confident and also incredibly hot.
Dustin can't keep his eyes off her all night. Maybe it's the alcohol making him brave, but he slowly starts to flirt with her and make conversation and to his delight, she's flirting back. However, the other members of the Party keep getting in their way and distracting them. However, as it gets later, the Party starts to peel off and go into Steve's house to sleep until it's just El and Dustin alone.
They sit by the pool together and it's like a flip switches. All of a sudden, they're making out. It starts getting really intense and Dustin for a moment thinks they're going to fuck in Steve's backyard before coming to his senses knowing that Steve would murder him if that ever happened (plus it would be easy to just look out a window and see them).
So Dustin leads a protesting El back into Steve's house and into one of his spare bedrooms...
