“Yes, this scientific experiment is… questionable.” Swain was deep in thought. That conclusion did not quite sit well, especially after having spoken to Darius about the nature of the previous city. “If I know anything about scientists, sometimes they are inscrutable and unkind in their pursuit of the impossible. We are but playthings.”

“Then tell me about this Amestris. What are its people like? Its terrain and geography? Its culture?” Knowledge was power, after all, and this would be knowledge of a place Swain had never even heard of.

“It seems so...” His thoughts switching from the scientists back to the culture from his home place. “Ametris is rather political, since it’s a unitary state. It’s rather vast too, there’s a large amount of people living there. It’s also split into five areas, West, East, North, and South, and Central. The East was involved in quite a gruesome war, I haven’t been there during the time but I’ve heard things about it...” He had to admit, it was quite shocking all this information was coming back to him even when a lot of his memories seemed to be blurred at the moment. Looks like it didn’t take away the amount of information he did know after all... “On that topic, the East has a desert terrain, the North is more mountainous and cold, meanwhile there are plains in the West and South.”

And in the name of honor which they lack.” Explaining things like this, feeling calm. he should have done that but he didn’t , because dying in this world and the last is useless. There is no honor anymore in that one final death. The underworld does not wait for him. nor does his comrades. 

 “Either revenge is another way, though less done.” 

The more details he heard, it did bring him memories of some people he had encountered back at home. There were those too devoted to those with a bad name, that caused them to hurt the people around them for the sake of this person. A rough “Hmm,” erupted from inside of him, just thinking of them couldn’t help but bring a sense of guilt and annoyance towards him. “I’ve known a fair share of people like that who have that high of a sense of devotion. Some are fixated on revenge too.”

 “It is. “ The worst that could happen? Senpukku. Almost outdated in practice from what he had learned, but there were some who still did that practice despite the need to prove one honor becoming reduced upon the edge of a modern world. 

 “It means death, at times when you dishonor your lord and yourself.” too much summarising there. 

“I have to say, that is an extreme form of loyalty right there.” If it was dying for the ones you loved, he’d understand. He’d do that for his family especially. But if it meant being killed if you disobeyed? That seemed rather intense. Maybe he should try to get a clarification for this... “So if you disobey, you’ll get killed? Or is this when you make a mistake by protecting the ones you love in a battle? But something does tell me this is different than what I may think it is.”

 hmm. He couldn’t say much because Bushido as a finalized idea, was finished during his last fourteen years of life. In which he practiced only one thing, loyatly to his lord, people and then lastly, famiy. That is how he lived his life. 

 “Perhaps you can be more specific. I did study a bit of this after all. Bunt unfortunately Bushido is something that is recent for me and my time.” Back then it was just common sense, or what was considered common sense. 

“Oh, my apologies.” He excused himself, then explained what he wanted to know in full detail. “I do know that chivalry focuses itself on serving kings, some of the rules are directed towards women as well. Meanwhile, bushido focuses on the perfect life of the samurai. I do hear that with bushido, it’s more strict when it comes to breaking rules. Is that true?”

“I’m in agreement with you.” To be able to subdue and escort so many people to this other world in what appeared to be a very short period of time was a feat that could have extensive practical uses in wartime. “It’s an incredible thing, one that would require a large amount of manpower and expenditure of resources. This is a large scale operation.”

Amestris? Xing? Swain had never heard of any of these countries, so he wondered if that meant they were from an entirely different world. Still, there was often much to be gleaned from tales of travel, and much to learn even without practical applications. “Then would you have time to spin me a yarn about your travels? It is always interesting to hear what tales the well-travelled have to tell.”

“It must be. I do have to say, they did put a tremendous amount of effort for the sake of a scientific experiment.” Hohenheim himself pondered their true intentions, were they thinking about their new inhabitants as lab rats only? Or was it possible that there was another reason in the mix? He would have to observe that further during his stay on Radiale, that’s for sure.

“That can easily be done. Which place would you want to hear about first?”

There was already natural suspicion from the other man, but that wasn’t unexpected. Having arrived in his full armament Swain could not be called inconspicuous, something which would have to be amended soon. “I don’t think any of us do. Everything up to the point of arriving here is something of a blur…”

Still, the stranger’s last statement had piqued his curiosity somewhat. “A wanderer? Tell me, to what places have you travelled, stranger?”

“It could be possible our memories have been tampered with,” He gently scratched at his beard, deep in thought. “But they kept us with most. At least, some inklings of our past. I wish I did remember how I was captured however, after all, I’m not someone that’d be taken down quite easily.” Hohenheim nodded at the question, “Yes. In my past I had used to live in Xerxes. Since it had disappeared, I had frequented around the newer country of Amestris along with Xing. I have traveled across bits of Drachma, Aerugo, and Creta as well.”

Sanada had been in the middle of preparing for another bake off to help everyone when the man approached him. Talking about the samurai though… it seemed odd after so long of not talking about them. But curiosity is good, unless its related to war. 

Still could this man…look a bit more interested? His face was rather…uninspiring. 

 “Of course. Every samurai must follow the code called Bushido. Which is say..the eastern equivalent of what is known as Chivalry.” but of course Sanada had been born earlier then the concept itself. And so didn’t practice it so much as only understood it to a basic level. His code was focused more on surviving and being a decent person. 

“So it’s like chivalry?” That made it much easier to understand, and it did make sense. Many of the samurai there were rather loyal to the royalty there, after all. “I feel like I understand it better, thank you. Any difference at all?”

He couldn’t help but give a judging stare as the other talked. He could feel a strange energy from him that reminded him much of the Fuhrer back in his realm. Maybe it was the glowing hand that gave it away, or it was the peculiar voice he had. For now, he was just going to quietly observe. “I see. I had just gotten here, I don’t remember how it happened too well. However, I had been traveling across the lands like I always have.”

( SO. i made up my mind and decided i’m gonna bring hohenheim to isola as my third muse! see y’all who are gonna join there!)

hearing the news about citta on my timeline i have decided i’m not going to stay in citta due to the things i’ve heard and i don’t want to support such behavior. however, i thank this group for giving me good memories, confidence in my writing, and amazing friends over the past 2 years. especially with jack spicer, a prominent muse of mine in this community. who has brought me and others plenty of laughs and fun. i’m really glad that many people did like him, because i honestly didn’t expect it at all when i apped him! i’ll appreciate it no matter what!  shuichi/kurama too, i’m glad i (re-)apped him, started anew, and made plenty of amazing memories with him. coming back in general helped me a lot during a very bad time. hohenheim too, even though i haven’t done much with him.. i will, however, be finishing up my last replies before moving to the new group in the works - so this doesn’t mean it’s the end! jack and kurama will be there, i am a little uncertain about hohenheim however. if any of you want to stay in contact, you can follow me on twitter. or you can add me on discord (nova#4014) i’ll miss all the lovely people i met here! i’ll also be reblogging this on my other two accounts so people know! hopefully see you again soon! <3

Edward stifles a grimace, another unpleasant expression brought on by his father’s words. For a second, he wonders if his anger is misplaced, but the facts as he knows them aren’t easy to ignore. Maybe holding onto the grudge for so long isn’t the best thing he could do, but what else is he supposed to do with it?

He shoves the thought to the furthest reaches of his mind, and the words leave his mouth before he even has a chance to think them through, “I’m not getting myself into trouble. I’m sure of it. I’ll be able to get everyone home.” Because to him, that’s all that really matters at the moment. “Acting like you care all of a sudden doesn’t suit you, old man.”

The district is easy enough to remember ( and to jot a note to not visit, ) but he’s not sure if he wants to actually keep talking to Hohenheim. “Yeah, I know. I’ve been there a few times, probably one of the creepiest places here, if you ask me.”

Hohenheim didn’t quite believe his son, but this time he’ll listen. He knew about his son’s motivation to get his other son’s body back, and maybe he’ll solve this in a peaceful way this time. He could only hope anyways... He shouldn’t leave Edward hanging in the middle of such doubtful thoughts, so he spoke back.  “...I’ll believe you.” He then replied back to the other’s comment, “-And I’ve cared more than you may assume, even if I may have been gone for far too long.” Creepy? Somehow, that word didn’t phase him. He has seen some of the most grotesque inhuman things throughout his extended life, so even if it was different to what he’s seen in their realm, it wouldn’t affect him.  

“Creepy? Is that so...?” He pondered, moving a hand towards his chin. “Now what creepy things would they have there?”
