The world's largest dinosaur is receiving its due. The American Museum of Natural History (AMNH) in New York City revealed the newest permanent addition to its collection, the Titanosaur, on Wednesday. The Titanosaur is over 122-foot-long and is believed to have weighed about 70 tons when alive over 100 million years ago. The South American prehistoric giant is actually so large, its head protrudes out of the exhibit door and into the elevator area on the fourth floor where it is being housed. The titanosaur at the AMNH, discovered in Argentina in 2014, does not yet have a name. Titanosaur is a group name used to refer to large dinosaurs such as this one, historically the largest animals to have ever roamed the earth. The exhibit will be open to the public on Friday.
