You know, I feel like arguably a possible avenune of Dottore characterization (that is really optional & up to interpretation, of course. Also arguably MOST applicable to omega specifically), is that, as far as I can tell, he's like.. genuinely really dramatic? LMAO?? but there's so much he does that's Just for the sake of drama. His overdramatic poses as Dr. Data. His dramatic entrance in the Sumeru story quest that, mind you, he specifically orchestrated. He literally puts effort into setting a Tone every time you see him???? & Like, (I haven't done the Nod Krai quest I've only seen out of context stuff so I can't speak much on that), but for the recent Sumeru quest.. IDK, it was probably just intended for flashback stuff for storytelling in game, but Dottore literally summoned facsimiles of Wanderer's old friends behind him, and then cinematically cast them off the ledge, AND put Wanderer back in Scaramouche outfit for literally like half a scene JUST to be Dramatic. Dottore said outright he didn't even want to return Wanderer's old life to the current day& Wanderer was right back to his usual outfit a second later. The ONLY reason Dottore did that was to be dramatic. And all this ties to his whole "im a Villain I'm a monster" internal thing obviously, but even calling yourself a 'demon that [you] could never have hoped to beat' (to Niwa when Niwa was dying) is SOOO?? Like??? That's COMICALLY dramatic dude. I'm sorry I keep saying dramatic but it IS idk how else to describe it.
Theres obviously an aspect of how deeply he believes it & has SO deeply internalized and as such perpetuates his own osctraization, but if you just think past that for a second, it's SO OBJECTIBELY DRAMATIC. ITS SO FUNNY. And again, I guess a lot of it is glossed over because it's Genshin and anime characters are just cool and stuff & it's kind of expected that antagonists are like that. But if we think about it as an active choice on Dottore's part, which I guess technically it is..??? Again, Omega consistently seems to put effort into creating a Tone every time we see him. He's the one who chose to do all those cunty extra movement flairs in both boss fights. And, like, we don't have many examples of the other segments talking, but we Know Omega talks with SUCH a dramatic drawl??????? Kind of????? He has a VERY specific cadence compared to the other segmengs I think. It's soo. Omega/Zandik/Dottore has been alive for 400 dramatic, dramatic years.
