Yeah I did make that thing from a year ago wooo
hello, officer
I have discovered that it’s fun to be a weirdo in casual sex. Helluva Boss is still bad though.
If i ever become part of the hazbin hotel/helluva boss critical community i want you to drown me
The only thing fans are talking on my twitter timeline about is Blitz being a ‘top’ [allosexuals confused me] and that hand sucking scene. I got me thinking about a point made by Madeline Maye at the 6:30 mark.
Helluva views people who enjoy casual sex, are promiscuous, not in a monogamous and committed relationship as being bad at sex or as bad people.
Blitz is bad at sex because he is not in a relationship unlike the Moxxie and Millie, who are married. Blitz is also jealous and was obsessed with their relationship back in Season 1.
These weird conservative undertones were pointed out in @/ponett's review of Hazbin.
This is point I never seen someone else make. I found it odd that nudity is censored in Hazbin. Asses got no crack and there are no nipples in sight with them, they are always covered up with nipple pasties.
Just food for thought, I guess.
Replies are restricted for this post but I just want OP to know how cool it is to see my videos used in arguments genuinely!
Are there any fictional characters you'd consider as good representation of people under the transgender umbrella (whether that be non-binary, trans masc, trans fem, intersex, etc?)
Yeah absolutely!
Dead End: Paranormal Park is amazing. There are some comic books I read recently that I thought were great (Girl Haven, Cheer Up: Love and Pompoms). I Saw The TV Glow and People's Joker were the big cinema standouts of 2024.
Oh I also discovered this mid-2000s anime called Lovely Complex that had a pretty ahead of its time depiction of a trans girl.
I feel like I'm forgetting some recent ones I saw lol. We still don't have the definitive "transitioning" movie. Like, a movie where we see someone transition from one gender identity to the other. It's something I would really love to see one day. Hell I'll take a shot at writing it haha!
Ok I want to say something controversial
But you are responsible for your own safe spaces. You can block tags, block words, block people.
“But i thought fandom was supposed to be a safe space” —yeah you have to curate it.
Unfortunately one persons’s safe space may be another persons’ trigger. That’s ok. Simply block them, block the tag, block the word etc. They can do the same for you.
Maybe I’m just out of touch, but I’ve been around since the days of “don’t like, don’t read” and that’s a good philosophy. If it squicks you, scroll past. If it causes you anxiety or upset, block! Plenty of people are responsive if you ask them to tag an upsetting trigger. And if they’re dicks about it, block em.
Since different people have different needs, one person’s safe space will be another’s Trauma Central.
I don’t know who said it first, but “I need to be able to express my anger without shame” and “I need to be away from yelling and loud noises” are both valid needs people can have for a safe space that really aren’t compatible with each other.
So are “I need to process my trauma” and “I need to not meet any trauma.”
Or “I want a safe space to tell/read the stories that speak to me” and “those stories are distressing to me.”
Insisting that your needs are the only needs anyone should have is not a safe space, it’s its own act of violence.
You don’t get to make others homeless to make the universe your personal safe space.
Read this bit again:
“Insisting that your needs are the only needs anyone should have is … its own act of violence.”
I will reblog this into the fucking stratosphere!!!
was thinking about infighting and like. they all see us the same. from the wildest queerest fagdyke to a cis gay guy. we are the same to them. the weird queers are not like. ruining your precious community. we're a part of it
@ exclusionists:
We are all Faggots in the eyes of the Fash. Stand United or Die Separately.
truly few things are more sneer-worthy to me than a gay deeply invested in respectability and assimilation
Spindlehorse's lazyness to actually make a scene and not copy-paste/tracing already existing scene FROM THEIR OWN UNIVERSE is Amazing.
I think it’s probably more that they can’t think of another way of framing this action lol
I want to grow my hair long enough that I can feel it on my butt! :D
Misogyny.
When I watched your video essay I honestly wasn’t sure what you meant by helluva boss idealising “Christian” love because that felt antithetical, but then I saw sinsmas.
I see what you mean now. The formerly non committal, free thinking, polyamorous Blitz has been trained and domesticated into submissiveness, monogamy and almost housewifery to Stolas. Now he dreams about settling down with his sexual abuser and raising kids with him by the fire. Probably with a white picket fence out front.
I think back to Ozzies, that whole nightclub were in truth all in monogamous masc x fem relationships, the idea of sexual liberation is a pretense for all the characters. Medrano seems like she’s actually not for queer liberation, she condemns that, she’s for conformity, tradition, obedience and servitude to powerful patriarchal men, and for conservative monogamy. She just prefers when it’s two men who are the husband and wife. Those pure evil “Karens” “harpies” that we know as women, can get thrown out a window.
Do you think you’ll add an addendum or roundup review to season 2? Or are you ready to close the book on this one
I think it’s more that Medrano, like all of us, has unchecked biases that she grew up with. If two people who are destined for each other start out distant and enemies, then story logic dictates they need to come together at the end.
And I think she likes seeing dudes kiss. I mean I get it. It’s pretty hot. It’s a common writing mistake to force the thing you want to happen because you really want it to happen, not because it makes sense for the story.
What Medrano doesn’t understand is that these stories generally don’t deal with heavy issues because they would give up the game. Her shows are cartoon universes with extremely heavy material but she doesn’t want to make the format any more mature. It’s a have cake and also eat it kinda thing.
If I get 100,000 subscribers I’ll make a part 2 lol
Except you don't need to stick your faces together/use tongue for a kiss to be "good".
These are two middle-aged men who probably haven't had any experience kissing someone they love, so they're obviously gonna be a bit out of practice.
I know that it was passionate and sweet, and they deserve that.
is this post real. can other people see this. this feels like a fever dream made reality
I feel like this tweet matches up well with this one
I think at the end of the day “stolitz” is a product. It’s a carefully crafted mass appeal product. And a toy. They aren’t two characters with a deep love story, tear jerking kindness, and strong bond, they’re two dolls playing games with a lonely audience wearing blinders. The young queer audience starving for Disney content: but gay. That’s why their tolerance level is so high and their denial so high. It’s sad. But it just shows when people are starving they’ll eat anything. Even rot.
Stolitz is something that you are supposed to draw art of and then post online, write erotica about, project your own relationship fantasies onto, and insert any trope you can think of, “height difference” “class difference” “water element x fire element” “tsundere” “enemies to lovers” etc. And most importantly, buy from its mountain of merchandise.
Insert the two into all your other favourite stories: Rapunzel, Frozen, Hercules, Shrek. It’s designed between two different personalities and both are so shallow, they can be warped into any pair of characters and any ooc change can just be called “development.”
Vivienne medrano loves the fantasy of the two characters being in love, meant to be, happy, perfect for each other. Her stubborn pretense that she’s actually written a love story here, not horrific glorified rape and deep layers of toxicity and abuse, gives her self esteem. It owns the haters. Which is such a shame. She had a platform for an impactful story and message, and chose the most unchallenging, pro establishment anti-progress plot possible. If there weren’t millions of shippers, the story would never have become this.
This is all absolutely correct. Great analysis!
I want to expand a bit. I recently read an article about streaming services and the rise of passive content, or content you’re not supposed to watch. This is stuff designed to play because you forgot to turn off your TV after you finished watching what you actually wanted to watch. It’s content for the sake of content.
In this way, Vivziepop’s shows are a perfect reflection of this phenomenon. They are designed to create content: discussion, outrage, fan art, merchandise. It’s stuff whose primary purpose is to make more itself. It’s not meant to be consumed on its own or even consumed carefully.
I remember an early Hazbin Hotel trailer for Amazon had some title that read “From Viral Creator Vivienne Medrano” and I thought that was so insulting to her. But maybe that is the ultimate compliment.
Having beef with a cartoon character is actually the most fun thing ever
Especially when you’ve got people who talk about them like they’re a real person
