greek mythology • hekate
hekate was the goddess of magic, witchcraft, the night, moon, ghosts and necromancy. she was the only child of the titanes perses and asteria from whom she received her power over heaven, earth, and sea.
The Good Place really said “People improve when they get external love and support. How can we hold it against them, when they don’t?” and "We choose to be good because of our bonds with other people" and "What matters isn’t if people are good or bad. What matters is if they’re trying to be better today than they were yesterday" and "If soulmates do exist, they aren't found, they're made" and "That knowledge [that life ends] is what gives life meaning" and "The answer is friends" and "That’s what the Good Place really is — it’s not even a place, really. It’s just having enough time with the people you love" and I think that's very sexy of them

"But how can astrology have any power over my life?"
Because the stars and planets and other objects in space are way bigger than you and will conceivably last a couple billion of your lifetimes, which makes them more wise and powerful than anything you can comprehend.
Because they are big. Way big. Like tremendously big. So big that when they move, the rest of them bob up and down in their wake, pulling each other back and forth across the solar system, the galaxy, the cosmos. So they can pull you back and forth too, and your fate bobs up and down in their ripples the same as any other fate.
Because they are radioactive, they are on fire, they burn from the inside, they seethe with noxious chemicals and spew lava and smoke and roil with thick colored steam that gushes endlessly from geysers that operate on a more precise clock than your heart. They burn with power on all levels.
They speed, they spin, they race through space in arcs so precisely curved and calculated that we can set a clock by them. They are the fastest, the strongest, the best athletes in the galaxy. We race against them to size our own spacecraft up, to measure our own lives and achievements by. They are our teachers, our mentors, our role models.
How can astrology have any power over our lives? Astrology is just the analysis of astronomy through a symbolic lens. It is the planets and stars that have real power over the universe. Providing you with food, water, air and resources, giving you warmth and light, holding you close with gravity both to soothe and to challenge. That is the power the lights in the heavens have over your life.
We learn astrology to harness that power.
Thing is, my parents were so attached to me believing in Santa Claus that even after years go by and I stopped believing in Santa Claus, and they knew I stopped believing in Santa Claus, we just kept the charade going. Their investment in it just made me feel bad for them, you know? Like so bad for them that, you know, that I eventually just murdered them.

if shes your girl why is she calling "woohoo boys" off her balcony and leading me into her apartment and letting me sit on her bed and telling me the reason these expensive linens aren't even soft is because sometimes things that are expensive are worse
