he knew it was coming, knew that something had to be done about the window. it wasn’t something that he could walk away from, something he didn’t want to walk away from. if he could handle the work of it himself, then danny wouldn’t have to be as involved and not fly off the handle like he had such fun in doing. “i know a couple of people… might not be able to get them out today though, but i can give them a call. until then i can help you cover it up. it’s the least i can do.”

“Thanks. I am house sitting for a friend, and I really don’t want him to suddenly come back and see that,” she said waving at the window, chuckling softly at this crazy situation. At least Jesse knew some people who could help her, because her first instinct had been to call Mickey and there is no way he could have helped her thousands of miles away. “I think there is some plastic bags in the basement? I’m not sure.”

he draws tense the minute she calls him out. his first instinct is to reach for his gun, but aside from being a nusisance, she isn’t a threat. and he doesn’t want to draw unwanted attention to himself. 

“i don’t see how what i do is any of your business.” though he’s already pushing off the wall and moving to the crosswalk to get over to the cafe. he doesn’t know her, doesn’t trust her. but she obviously is another time traveller. not rittenhouse, though. and not one of christopher’s people, either.

Letting out a tiny sigh of relief, Rose follows him into the cafe, glad that this guy was more reasonable then he looked. “Me? Uh, a professional time traveler. Yeah, let’s go with that.” anything else would be too much information. “So, it kind of is my business. Your little trips are giving me a headache.”

She hangs back, allowing him to choose where to sit. He is, technically, still on a stakeout. He seems to blend in with the background, his clothes are appropriate and his hair seems to match the one preferred on this period. “Are you seriously wearing an apple watch?” she asks, noticing the future tech on his wrist.

headcanon && rant

a lot of people (who are trying to be annoying and mean) use the fact Rose disappeared for 12 months to prove she is a terrible person and a horrible daughter. Which completely ignores the fact The doctor said it would be 12 minutes so the blame is completely on the Doctor, but hey, why am I not surprised the fandom blames a woman for a man’s mistakes.

Anyways, in the first episode, just as the invasion is starting, what does Rose do? Call her mother. call her mother to warn her. That’s her first instinct, to protect her family. And honestly, we see that time and time again during the series. When Rose cares about someone, she will do anything to save them!

Rose isn’t the best daughter in the world. Yeah, that’s canon and I am not gonna refuse that because it’s part of her character. But to blame Rose for the 12 months thing when in the first episode she is shown trying to protect her mom?? Is just stupid and hateful.

Out there, right now, the Nestene invasion of Earth was beginning, and Rose could only think of only one thing.

Her mother.

She took out her mobile. Would she get a signal underground? She could only hope with all her heart, as she keyed in the number designated Mum.

“Really, I can find my way out of this planet.” Rose had been happy to help the Jedi and his friends on their mission, even though she had promised herself that she would just relax and do nothing else on this planet ( ha! like that was even possible ). The whole thing had been strangely fun and she enjoyed seeing the jedi fight. 

But they were all being very nice and helpful, offering to give her a ride out of this now deserted planet, and Rose doesn’t exactly fancy showing the TARDIS to them. “... I got a friend who will pick me up. I am good!”

She is running, barely holding on, but doing the one thing she does extremely well. There is something chasing her, an alien? A human really into tattoos? She isn’t quite sure what it is; all she knows is that it’s dangerous and on her tail. She needs to run faster, the thing is gaining on her, its --

A strange voice hovers over her; a steady beep fills the room; she can smell alcohol, but not the good kind, which means. 

“Please tell me this isn’t a hospital.” she moans, eyes flickering open.

“Oh, yes.” Rose shouldn’t be doubting him this much, she has seen wonderful and crazy things in her travels. But it’s a lot of fun to tease him! Besides, what he is saying barely makes sense! A sword made out of light! A lightsaber! As if. Really, does he really expect--

A green light suddenly fills the room; once her eyes adjust she realizes that it’s coming from his sword. “No way!”
