I have to reblog this every time because frankly this is absolutely genius prose
frog of the day :)
Introducing one of the weirdest frog species, complete with a pretty funny scientific name, pipa pipa, Common names: Common surinam toad/suriname toad, star fingered toad
Habitat: An aquatic species. They live in slow-moving pools in rain forests, whether they be bodies of water or big puddles that have collected over time.
Found in: Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, French Guinea, Columbia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname (hence the name), Trinidad and Tobago, Venezuela
Fun fact(s): The suriname toad is unique for reasons besides their strange, flat shape - They also have a different way of parenting from other frogs. The female frog lays clusters of 60 to 100 eggs, and the male then pushes them onto her back, where they stick, and she carries them around until they hatch.
The previously mentioned, and unsubtle, weird shape of them, isn’t just in their flat bodies - they also have unusually far apart eyes for a frog, as well as incredibly long fingers!
These fingers aren’t just long for no reason. Even though they look kind of useless, they are actually used for grabbing prey, something other frogs don’t tend to do much.

SIDE ONE DONE. I use E6000 glue so I’m gonna let it cure for a few hours, maybe overnight before I do the other side.
I THOUGHT IT WAS A HYPERBOLE
can we get a return investment on this new iteration? via /r/MemeEconomy https://ift.tt/2TGwXTg
had an Interesting Time in my translation theory lecture today…… lecturer made us listen to frog noises for ten minutes and then try to write down how we would spell. the frog noises
“how do you translate a frog—really translate a frog? can you translate a frog?”
“the noble and mysterious language of frog”
“there is no such thing as the definitive frog”
this video is the essence of who i am as a man
Isnt this the person who’s husband left something at the airport and they had to dig around in a bush for it and said “shrubbery” in the best way?
