Born in Tunbridge Wells as the result of an unfortunate but passion filled post 1st wizarding war one night stand, to fathers, Flirty, Rebellious, and Smooth Aruor in training Sirius Orion Black (AMAB), and Inquisitive, stern, and burnt out Child Psychologist Leo George Maccallan (FTM) Dina, originally named Idina Stells Black-Maccallan, came to be.
Despite their situation, the two men tried their best to raise the girl together in what they had collected of themselves after the war, along with the money Leo made working as a child psychologist in london. The two, despite being significantly grief striken after the passing of their friends Lily Evans and James Potter, attempted to give Dina the best life possible, each coming from broken homes themselves. Leo having lost his parents at age 13 to a home break in turned murder, and having spent most of his teenage years with his abusive death eater uncle. and Sirius having been disowned at 16 by his mother and father and having couch hopped since than from place to place.
But shortly after Dina's turned 2, Sirius was arrested on suspicion of several 2nd degree murder charges in a local muggle village, in correlation with recent fraternization with the dark lord. Leo, suspecting foul play given the blurry details of Lily and James's death, decided to flee the country to Quebèc Canada in order to prioritize his own safety, where he picked back up his practice in developmental child psychology in a local muggle town called Trois-Rivières.
Unfortunately for a young, now 3 year old Dina, Leo figured the fast paced and dangerous move would be too traumatizing and decided to leave her on the doorstep of her grandmother and Leo's mother in law, Walburga Black. In the hopes the woman would agree to raise the young girl in place of her own parents. Giving Dina the opportunity to attend Hogwarts and have a semi normal life.
Reluctantly, she was welcomed into the home on the condition that Leo agreed never to send letters or attempt to get back in touch with her ever again. Leaving her raising completely up to the discretion of Orion and Walburga. Leo, fearful of the circumstances that await him or his daughter if whomever was after former members of the order found him or her, agreed. From then on, Dina was raised nurtured and mothered by her paternal grandmother, who, despite a slight aversion to Dina's half blood identity, kept up her end of the bargin, keeping Dina fed, warm, and relatively safe.
As she grew, Walburga attempted to raise a good, stern, disaplined child, as she had always hoped Sirius might be. Viewing the unfortunate nature of Leo's quick departure as an opportunity to redo her parenting challenges over again. This time successfully.
And though Dina was no slovenly family disappointment with a desire to antagonize Walburga and run off to fraternize with unlikeable people, as her father had once down in the eyes of her grandmother. She was no highborn pearly white lady. And eventually, Dina ended up in relatively the same position as Sirius. Constantly fighting her grandmother on every matter. Rather it was the style that her messy curls sat in, or the cut of her dress, down to the way she smiled in front of guests at expensive suppers.
That was of course, when she saw her grandparents, because, despite living in the house with Walburga and Orion, Dina didn't actually have any real solidified parental connections, as her grandmother was always away at pureblood charity events she wasnt premitted to attend, and her Grandfather worked a fast paced job as an accountant for the ministry that took up the majority of his time. Leaving her alone in the empty manor without even a house elf to occupy her time, and with ample time to explore the manors lush gardens full of different plants and herbs, Dina discovered she liked creating potion recipes that she documented inside a small notebook of hers with the help of dusty and outdated potions textbooks belonging to her late uncle Regulus that she had found in the attic.
Walburga, witnessing her granddaughters talent, Owl'd professor Severus Snape, the potions professor at Hogwarts, immediately. Spitting words a mile a minute about the tales of her granddaughters abilities and possible genius. demanding he tutor her ASAP to make the best of her gift. Snape, seeing potential in the girl, agreed to do so on the condition that she was truly serious about her interest in potions, as he intended to work her hard.
Thus, Dina began her mentorship under Snape, which extended to a classroom when she began her education at Hogwarts, a place full of fresher ingredients not hand picked from the comparatively measly garden of 12 grimmauld place. she spent long, tiring, and tedious days chopping, collecting, cataloging, and grinding herbs. Than as she learned to adapt to labour, eventually Snape helped her to tweak each recipe she had once comprised to be written correctly to create soild potions, than by her 3rd year, how to brew, settle, and cataloge them each properly. And before long, after successfully brewing a handy solution for stress migraines, she had written at age 10 during a sunny Saturday and distributing it to an exhausted and achey 5th year boy during his O.W.L exams. the new hot word on the street was that Dina Black was a potions prodigy. Dina quickly learned by the hand of Snape to brew more and more advanced potions. And could practically whip up anything in a matter of hours by request. Which she used to gain sutible favor with her peers, who had otherwise thought she was rather odd, being so close to Hogwarts' least favorite cranky professor. But now, people flocked to her to gain advantages from her talent, if they needed anything from a fake sickness brew, to a sleeping drought, down to a simple love potion, she guaranteed they could have it.
In the late months of her 3rd year, during a crisp rainy night walk to collect pussywillows by the black lake for a menstrual cramp potion, Dina met Percy Wealsey. Initially finding the Gryffindor head boy's pompous personality a little bit jarring as he scolded her about her late night escapades and the importance of a good night's sleep. Though it seemed Dina came around to his authoritative disposition and even found it alurring. Giving the boy a piece of sweet honeysuckle bread that had been baked for her by a hufflepuff boy in exchange for a remedy she brewed him for stinky feet, along with a smile and an offer to sit with her under the stars. And it wasn't long before the two became quick friends, no potion necessary, the two sharing a mutual understanding about the unfairness of life. And even sooner, the two became inseparable. Dina finally had a true friend in this world who didn't want her for her potions expertise. And by extension, she gained new friends through Percy's alibet small, band of misfits.
In the spring of Dina's 5th year, to her shock and eventual dispair, she recieved unfortunate news via Owl that her grandmother Walburga had passed away in her sleep from unknown causes, and her Grandfather Orion had left the country without another word to compensate for his dispair. Not even leaving a letter to Dina to suggest he cared to know how she was doing about the situation. Thus, as a minor, she became professor Snapes "problem" as the minstry put it. And guardianship of her and her subsequent very large inherentence was immediately transferred to him until her 19th birthday, when she could access the fortune her grandparents had left for her and her only living relative Nymphadora tonks, whom she'd never even met.
By the time Dina was in her 6th year, and had gained significant traction with her peers as a result of her love for Potions. Harry potter had also found and embraced his quick claim to fame, to the disdain of Dina, who hated the lad and thought he was rather selfish and entitled. And with his reign of worship, Harry brought Dolores Umbridge, a local, less than complimentary member of the ministry of magic. Who Dina discovered hated her guts with a burning passion.
Dolores made claims that Dina was, for a member of such an esteemed family, unfocused, unmotivated, unladylike, and exactly like the pathetic man who had fathered her. Umbridge's disdain for Sirius extended beyond snickering at the unfortunate nature of his arrest, shivering at the mention of his name, or even, the most average reaction as of late, which was bringing up the truth of his own hogwarts legacy. Umbridge took her hatred a step furthur, with the antagonistic torture of Dina, day in and day out. Umbridge made it her personal mission to make Dina remember her 5th year, keeping her awake into the night with back breaking dententions than publicly humiliating her in class for dozing off, crude comments about Dina's appearance, laugh, promiscuity, fashion sense, and classwork, sending her to fetch things in the muddy rain, spending weeks locked in her room without suppee, punishing her now boyfriend Percy, the school goody two shoes, for doing absolutely nothing, just to piss Dina off, and eventually subjecting her to repeated use of the blood quill on just about every surface of her body.
And as a result of all the stress and emotional repression she faced for months at a time, Dina adapted a severe obscurus, leading to a emotional and very dangerous break down in the grand hall of hogwarts, where she severely injured several of her peers and herself, which led to her eventual hospitalization at St. Mungos in May of her 6th year. Where, after her recovery 8 months later, in January of her 7th year, she was ordered to cease her mentorship with Professor Snape and focus on relieving any significantly stressful aspects of her daily routine, permanently effected by her new affliction.
As a result of her new found fear of her obscurus and of Professor Umbridge, she did not return to Hogwarts to graduate and instead took up a job as a cataloging assistant for the minstrys library, as a favor from Percy. Where she works to rebuild her strength and esteem in herself with the help of the love of her life, who supports her every step of the way. But in 1997, during the death eaters invasion of the minstry, Dina was captured by Barty Crouch Jr during a raid, where she was harshly interrogated with intense demands to disclose her biological fathers whereabouts, since his prison escape in Dina's 5th year.
There, she is subjected to traumatizing endeavors daily and spends her nights as a prisoner of both Lord voldemort and her obscurus. Transitioning between self harm caused by scrapes, scratches, rashes, brushes, cuts, and welts caused by the obscurus's desire to take over and cause debilitating insanity, and lashings, curses, busted lips, broken body parts, dehydration and starvation as a result of the death eaters cruel games for control.
After 2 years of traumatizing interrogation, she is found, albeit beaten, dirtied, and broken, during an attempt from the order to find and save her former classmate Luna Lovegood who was captured several months after Dina by Fenrir Greyback. Where Neville Longbottom, a childhood friend of hers, helps to bring Dina to the orders safe house at 12 grimmauld place where she is given room to recover from the entire ordeal under the protection of Dumbledores army. There, she finally comes face to face, thanks to a now shaken and Anti-Ministry Percy, with teary eyed news of Snapes death and the details of what he disclosed during his final moments. Including words spoken about Dina's location at Malfoy Manor and what time was best to strike and bring her to safety. However the positives of the situation may appear. Dina, in her attempt at recovery, is forced to come to terms with the reality that her mentor and father figure is gone. And did not get an opportunity to see the wars end.
Soon after, she and Percy decide, shaken up from the trauma of her long and tiresome isolation at Malfoy manor, to follow in Bill's footsteps and get married, in case something happens to one of them again before the war ends. And after a small but comforting wedding, in her childhood home of 12 grimmauld place, the two are one, and Percy Weasley becomes Percy Black.
Finally, when the war is over, and all is done. As Dina and Percy recover from the trauma of the entire experience together and catch their breath, they decide, with Percy having no desire to rekindle any connections with his family, after numerous altercations resulting in a practically nonexistent relationship, and Snape, being the closest thing Dina had left to family, having passed himself in 1998. The two decide to move to Wales into a small humble sea side house they purchase with Dina's inheritance. Where they shortly after settle down and have triplet daughters whom they name Ally, Penny, and Madeline.
Percy, having made up his mind about the ministry of magic during the last moments of the war, deciding to stay closer to home to take care of his new daughters, taking up a postion at the local library as a librarian. Dina runs, and quickly gets elected as assistant minister to newly elected Minister of magic Kingsley Shaklebolt, where she begins to assist in cleaning up the remnants of the war and helping people get back to normal.
There, she searches in the minstry archives where she discovers Leo's telephone number. And alibetly reluctantly gives him a call, hoping that finally, they can reconnect and make things right. And soon after, Leo travels to Wales to meet his granddaughters and his now 24 year old daughter. And is able to form a connection with his family. And even teach Dina about her Latina culture, his side of the family, how to cook his mothers and grandmothers traditional dishes, and how to speak Spanish. which she immediately teaches how the girls to speak.

I know it exists because I have eyes to see I am tanner than other children, but no one seems to want to talk about it. Like it's just a thing we don't acknowledge and we don't acknowledge that we dont acknowledge it. My grandma says Spanish is the language of my other grandmother. My muggle grandmother. And thus it wouldn't be proper to learn it, like acknowledging a part of her is in me somewhere and yelling to the whole world that i am a Halfblood. Leo just up and fucking left and took all the knowledge of who i really am with him in his dumb satchel bag that night. And even Professor Snape admits, he doesn't seem interested in getting involved in my self-discovery. He claims he never paid enough attention to Leo when he spoke Spanish as a lad to teach me, and he figures it'd be a bother from my studies anyways. So I just play along with their game and just pretend i'm not Latina❞ - Dina Black
