many women are excited to get old and weird, but i have great news that it's fully possible to become weird now, before you get old. just imagine the heights of weirdness you will be able to reach in fifty years if you get started now. that's what I think

My biggest advice for those who want to get into comics, is just DO it. Look up a character who interests you, and start reading any runs they're in. If you like batman, read Year 1, the Long Halloween. Just hop in. There's no right or wrong way to do it. You might be a little confused if you read volume 3 or 4 of a series, but it'll still be READABLE because the comic writers do a great job of leaving authors notes on some pages that include details on where to find the full story of information a character may have just dropped.

I also reccomend watching the dc animated stuff. They often directly base of comics, and give you an idea of some of the characters you might want to look into. Young Justice, Under the Red Hood, Son of Batman, My Adventures with Superman, etc. Those are all great to get into the storytelling style and vibe of characters.

If you're specifically curious about Batfamily (Batman, his robins/kids, etc) i recommend actually reading the Wayne Family Adventures comic on Webtoons, which has also been traditionally published, just to get a basic idea of who all the characters are and from there you can pick some to start with for reading actual canon backstories and lore.

And as always, if you want to know something, Google it. 65% of my time when I was first getting into DC was googling and reading through reddit threads. Never be ashamed for needing to look something up! There are tons of things I still don't know- you probably won't know everything and that's okay!

Always remember- superheros are supposed to be fun, and inspire you to consider your own morals and question authority.
