getting a content label stuck on a post that actually is mature is so frustrating because its like, ok, this is a suggestive image, i cant really appeal this. this is what the label is for. but the label ruins the fucking post because unless something has changed since the last time i checked, They Do Not Fucking Work. they are Useless. if this was a respectable site we would be allowed to use tags for people to filter but instead tagging is useless so our system is to just completely hide posts (or cover them under a Mystery Label that offers no insight into what the post actually is) from people who might actually want them bc they either didnt know to adjust their settings or bc they have mature posts hidden bc they dont want to see explicit graphic posts & are instead being blocked from like, a mildly suggestive picture
you try to search for something cool like inflation but the tag is banned. result: nobody wants to tag their inflation with common tags that are both easy to search and easy to filter because then they wont be searchable. result: it becomes as difficult to block inflation from your dash as it is to search for it
you hide all mature posts regardless of content, as well as countless posts that are NOT mature, under a mystery curtain that gives little to no insight into what the post is. result: people may either choose not to uncover them and miss posts that they want to see, or they may click them and be met with something they didnt want at all. it becomes a complete unnecessary gamble
result: mature posts are both hidden from people who want to see them and accidentally shown to people who dont

Where I come from, we don’t worry about these fruity-tuity California style buds. Okay? I’m from Scranton. What i’m smoking is dirt. So lets get that straight jack. Pure brick. Ass. Okay? America- Americans are wanting to smoke that dirt, okay? You go up to someone and say, hey, I’m gonna give you a big bag of this heady bud, but I’m taking your stash of mids, they’re gonna say C’mon man! get out of here! *audience cheers* that’s right. that’s right. Get the hell out of here! We like stems! We like seeds! Where I come from.
this post is scripture to me like this is a seminal text. to me
The mosaicist
you can't say "hey has anyone noticed that M/M fic outnumbers F/F like 100:1” or “it feels racist that only 3/202 characters on the ao3 top 100 ships list are Black and two of them are Alastor HazbinHotel” bc some ppl will start going like “oh so you think we should FORCE people to write about things they DON’T CARE ABOUT for WOKE????” and you’ll be like “no, i’m pointing out that the conditions that created this disparity are informed by racism & misogyny” and ppl will say “it’s not BIGOTED to only care about WHITE MEN” and then the gargoyle king appears
a car you used to drive can also be a kind of dead wife
Something about the bastardization of the story time and time again proves that nobody in power really cares about the people who would resonate with King’s Carrie White. A girl so ugly and repulsive she’s been removed from her own story. The societal need for women and girls to be constantly perceived as attractive is what fuels a fair amount of her torment in the book, but that person isn’t even allowed to exist on the screen. We cannot empathize with her; it isn’t allowed. It’s fascinating to me.
