FUCKING NO #comparing sewing carpentry:#both require dexterity knowledge and fucking MATHS to do an intermediate level #e.g. knowing about the properties of different woods/metals vs different fabrics #the endless measuring and planning #the risk of maiming oneself with a Big Machine (generally more common with saws but still)#there is a lot of crossover!#I cannot speak for things like welding because I haven't done them #but yeah

its not a huge gripe and i won't get on anyone's case about it but i don't like it when people call Batman a mother. the implication that caring for a child and wanting a child must be maternal is something i find a little gross. he's not mom coded and he isn't single mother coded, there's just a very narrow definition of what people think is a mother and father's place. the fact that he appears "mom/single-mother" coded has less to do with his character and more to do with that narrow definition of motherhood (and fatherhood)

Tbh I don't understand anyone who denies their favorite character's flaws and acts like they've never done anything wrong when that is like consistently the most interesting part of any character ever

I think in a superbat setting, Bruce and Clark are afraid of love in two very distinct ways, which kind of shapes the way they go about the whole 'it's not you its me' thing in my fics/drabbles where they fumble about and don't get together.

To me, Bruce is very very accepting of his feelings of love towards a person. A lot of older depictions of Bruce in the comics kind of showcase this, where he is sometimes fully ready to give up Batman to pursue his lover. He is kind of impulsive in that manner. So he's not the one who's gonna pull away from someone if he finds out he loves them. What I do think he is scared of is accepting that someone else loves him, coz he is insecure as fuck and doesn't think of himself as worthy.

Now Clark on the other hand, to me, is the exact opposite. He isn't scared of recieving love, but he is scared of loving someone in the sense that he is never really capable of being solely their's. Honestly this is an issue all superheroes face, but Clark especially. With him being Superman, he is almost always needed somewhere in the world. He doesn't really get to be someone's because he is everyone's. And also he is a little scared of what he might do for them, if something happened to them. It's a lot of power he holds, and moments of weakness are inexcusable.

So yeah, to me, that's why I think either of them might reject each other, even if they desperately loved each other. Bruce thinks Clark is settling for him and can do so much better, and Clark is terrified of himself when he is in love with Bruce. At least, that's how I see it.
