You gotta be really publicly passionate about things if you want your friends to text you. Bc people will forget to text you because they’re human. But if you’re really openly the friend who loves identifying ants your friends will think of you when they see ants. And they’ll text you “what ant is this [blurry photo]”. And then they’ll ask you how you’ve been and we should get coffee sometime. But if they don’t know what you love they’ll never know what you like
And then when the ant convention is in town they’ll be like dude… we should go to the ant convention. But they would never think to go if they didn’t know u loved ants
And sometimes you need to ask them to go to the ant convention. But you Will not get anywhere hiding your passions
sorry to hear that you haven’t been feeling all that great lately. Do you want me to hunt you for sport
You know,
[Doesnt do it] [gets stressed] [gets scared thinking about doing it] [doesnt do it because it's scary] [keeps not doing it]
Being told what to do is great because then you know what to do
hi so yeah im trying to find the hotel california and i know i have to take the highway to hell but i accidentally turned left onto the boulevard of broken dreams. i took the first hard right onto the rocky road to dublin cuz i thought it would loop back around but it didnt lol and i know im waaaaaay off course bc i just drove by the house of the rising sun haha. so how many miles until i get to the hotel
barista handed me my coffee and I grabbed it sideways, ie I put my thumb on top of the lid and my fingers on the bottom of the cup, and she looked at me like I was from Mars. which is fair. I don't know why I did that either.
I barista'ed for ten years and learned that people will instinctively grab the cup in whichever way is opposite to how you're handing it to them, so as not to make physical contact with your fingers. So I started holding the cup by the top of the cup - like, fingers around the edge of the lid and holding by the actual lip of the actual cup.
Now this is a dangerous hold for the untrained, but that is why I did it - because then they wouldn't. Because see, if I handed it to them while holding it around the middle like a normal coffee cup? Well they had no option but to grab it by the top, or with some kind of secret third option like OP did but not everyone has the finger length required for that. And the untrained topside-grabbers always did it wrong and held the cup by the actual lid, which of course popped the thing clean off. But if I held it by the top, they'd instinctively grab the cup securely around the middle like they were meant to and everyone could move on with their day.
Granted, this did give some people an unearned sense of confidence in their abilities. But it turns out you're gonna get those folks no matter what you do, so you may as well give the statistical majority a fighting chance.
eyyyyyyy

*at a therapy appointment* I mean sure, but what am I gonna do (doing a stupid voice) "heal?" *rolls my eyes and makes a jacking off motion*
You just sold your Soul!
Spin to find out why!
Was it worth it?
HELL YES!!!
Yep that's a pretty good deal
Eh sure?
I can live with this I guess.
I mean at least it's funny?
Fuck bro I must've been drunk to sell my soul for that
What the actual fuck is this shit?! I'm so fucked.

This wheel was made and submitted by anonymous!! I really like it, fun colours and a lot of options
Heh heh heh
Hilariously, I didn't give a fuck about any sport until I married a man who's a Mets fan solely because of Bonding With His Awesome Dad reasons.
OP turned off reblogs but I needed this post real bad
They should invent a cry for help that has zero negative effects on anybody and also that makes everyone treat you like a little animal in a cardboard box. But everyone’s cool with it because you’re a cute little animal and not an adult human that needs to get their shit together to stay alive
Absolutely wild to randomly get this post while she's literally on my TV screen right now talking to Josh Scherer
The Buff-Tip Moth: this moth's unique resting position all0ws it to mimic a broken birch twig, and the buff-colored patches on its head and forewings even resemble freshly-snapped wood
Phalera bucephala, otherwise known as the buff-tip moth, is a remarkable mimic that can easily disguise itself as a twig. This moth has a unique resting position that makes its body seem narrower and more cylindrical, and its wings are covered in silver patterns that resemble tree bark, while the buff-colored patches on its head and forewings mimic the appearance of freshly-snapped wood.
Above: three actual twigs and one buff-tip moth
This type of camouflage is also known as a "protective resemblance" -- a form of mimesis in which an animal can avoid being preyed upon by mimicking an unremarkable or inedible aspect of its environment. Many other moths are able to disguise themselves in similar ways, often mimicking dead leaves, twigs, moss, and/or tree bark.
Above: more photos of Phalera bucephala
The buff-tip moth is particularly adept at disguising itself, however, and the fact that it so strongly resembles such a specific object (not just a dead leaf or a piece of foliage, but a broken twig from a silver birch tree, in particular) makes this disguise seem even more impressive and unique.
Above: the photo at the top shows a buff-tip moth in its resting position, while the photo at the bottom shows the same species with its wings unfurled
It also tends to look like there's a weird little smiley face in the setae surrounding the moth's head, which is arguably even more striking, but for some reason none of my sources seem to mention that weirdness.
Above: the weird little smiley face on the back of the moth's head
This species is distributed throughout the British Isles, mainland Europe, and parts of Asia, with its range extending into Eastern Siberia.
