It's been a while since I've posted some moodboards

The story behind this group is that I was hunting Pinterest for crowns that I thought would suit the elvish kings of Valinor. I then started thinking about ones for the crown princes too. So, I picked the ones I liked best and made them the central pieces of the moodboards.

HC: Aulë made all the crowns and based them on what their respective wearers requested/liked.

Finwë. Man's got a spikey crown. Gold, diamonds, pizazz.

Fëanor. Red was a must. Less flamboyant, but still screams power.

Ingwë. Tall, gold, stunning. He deserves it. Someone better get why the bells are there.

Ingwion. More delicate, but still shiny. Fun fact: Ingwion led the Vanyar in the War of Wrath.

Olwë. Pearls were a must. The lack of straight lines is giving water.

Ëarwen. Pearls and simplicity. She totally pushed Finarfin off the pier within minutes of first meeting him.

Alas, I did Ëarwen. I originally made it for an OC from a fic I really like, but I switched it to Ëarwen and now the theme's kinda the kings + their eldest children.

Still deciding whether to give Túrin wavy or straight hair, and whether Beleg’s hair should be in a single braid or left loose.

I wanted to capture their gentle moment, but once it was finished, remembering how their story ends made the whole scene ache a little.

A fashion for red shoes

Ficlet about Beleg's infamous red pointy shoes (both total crack and a bit of foreshadowing), featuring Melian being Maiarin.

‘If you are following Turin into the wilds, tracking him over stick and stone, you will also need durable footwear,’ said Melian.

‘You are so generous, my Queen,’ exclaimed Beleg.

Melian handed him a pair of pointy red shoes.

Beleg blinked. The colour was most unusual for a Marchwarden. Was Melian somehow implying an oblique criticism of his choice of the black sword? Sometimes, she was difficult to read. The expression on her face was quite non-committal.

‘Thank you very much,’ he said. ‘Beautiful as all your work, of course, and so distinctive!’

‘Yes, in those shoes, nobody should be able to mistake you for an orc,’ said Melian.

This must surely be a joke! But delivered with such a straight face…

‘At any rate, who knows, you may become as famous among your admirers for your shoes as for your sword or bow. Maybe you will even set a fashion…’, Melian concluded.

And now she did smile at Beleg.

2. I really, really love them but don't vibe with most fans' take of them (end up not reblogging a lot of the character's contents)

3. The one and only certified version of them is in my head. Period. I accept no otherwise.
