Forever
Not everything lasts forever. But, some things do. Some things that touch your soul, and are etched in your mind forever. And, you could ask like what? May be, like the smile on your mother's face, the one picture that comes to your mind when you think of her. And, she might not be with you, or she may be gone forever, as it is destined to be, but that image, that indomitable and doting portrait will stay with you, no matter what. Or may be, like the first kiss. That one kiss when you were never sure what was right and what was wrong and you will never be. That one kiss with shivering lips and shaking senses. And, it might not be the best kiss you've ever had, and hundreds and thousands of kisses will follow, but that one will stay with you forever, for how it made you feel. Or may be, like the one day with your cousins, among those countless summer holidays over the years. The one day that still brings a smile on your face, although you aren't close with your cousins anymore. The one day that felt normal then, like any other day, but today has grown to become one of the fondest memories for the kid inside you, hiding in one silent corner of your grown up heart. And then there are so many others, may be not so strong, but still drifting now and then, like a good book, or a wonderful movie, or the sunrise after a long night, or the evening walk with your dog, or may be the one act of kindness in your otherwise busy day. Some things stick forever. And, those are the things that actually make you who you are.
