This is soooo interesting to me.
Because Enroute claimed that ‘Elation is dead’, but he never understood Elation in the first place.
Aha didnt laugh because it was funny. They laughed because it was sudden, because it was random. Because in that instance they understood that beyond the futility of life, life is so overwhelmingly random. That it is uncontrolled. They laughed in the face of the futility of existence, because for all that life is futile, it is random, and that is enough to bring a smile to their face, because if life is random what does it matter that its got no meaning?
Elation is all about accepting that life has no ultimate meaning, and then throwing that away and making your own! Have fun, do what you want, do it because you can! What does it matter that existence is meaningless? You exist anyways! Make something of it, have fun, or dont, whatever!
At a first glance it looks like Asat understands the randomness of existence. After all, he’s got the whole dice thing, right?
But dice arent truly random. They are chaotic, they are unpredictable, sure, but not truly random. The face they land on is predetermined when the dice is cast- by the air, the surface, how you throw it- the chances are shifted by it’s creation, the paint on a side being heavier, tiny variations, their density.. they arent truly random, even if they seem it.
And Asat Pramad is a planner. He is a mastermind. Everything he does is apart of some plan.. even if he doesnt know what that plan is when it begins. Everything has a reason, regardless of if he knows the reason when he makes the action or afterwards.
Asat Pramad believes Elation is dead, but he never did understand what Elation truly meant.
And he isnt even aware, it seems, that he never understood Elation, and that he still doesnt.
Theres an interesting pattern, it seems, where a Lord Ravager never truly did understand the Aeon’s own meaning of their Ideal. (And yes, this includes even Phainon, i’d say. The whole lack of understanding that Nanook desires someone to destroy themself paints that pretty clearly imo.)
