Can’t stop thinking about the fact that luffy is a crybaby when he’s with ace and sabo, and he’d probably still be like that today. Yeah he was just a kid back then, obviously  now he’s older and more mature (however mature luffy can be, in his own  special terms) but despite that i think he’d still be their crybaby little brother, because they simply allow him to be that. Like we see it in marineford when he finally frees ace,  and they fight side by side. you can see that he finally feels safe and  he kind of takes the back seat behind ace, something luffy never ever  does when he’s with other people. and we see it on dressrosa too when he  sees sabo for the first time after all these years, where he just sobs  his eyes out (for various reasons, for which anyone would cry but still. luffy hadnt shown any kind of negative emotion to such an extent after the time skip). He feels a different kind of safety with them and he can  depend of them in a different way he does with his crew.I just love seeing how he has different roles in his relationships and how he’s the reliable and responsible one when it comes to his crew. His crew is as much his family as his two brothers, but in this situation he’s the “big brother” figure
