Hey there! I’m FrozenEmus (or just Emu). I’ve been on tumblr since 2020, although for most of that I was a lurker until early 2022.
Just out of courtesy for other people, I’ve decided to compile a list of things that I think should be said up-front for those that don’t know me:
(The first being I’ve decided to collapse this because of the fact that it’s a fairly chunky post and some people already know what I post so this doesn’t concern them)

- I have diagnosed ADHD, with many additional symptoms pointing to the possibility that I may be on the spectrum somewhere (although we have yet to look into this). There are a wide array of issue that have emerged in the past as a result of this including the following:
Anger Issues™.
That being said, anger storms aren’t as frequent online anymore, however I felt the need to include this bit out of caution.
I can be quite blunt at times. There have been many times where I’ve said things with good-intent and had people grow upset because I accidentally hit them with the verbal equivalent of folding chair (to those people, if you’re reading this, sorry about that)
There will be times where I have difficulty interpreting the meaning and tone of a post/comment, and will often ask for the intent if there’s no tone tags. Sorry if I seem dumb in the process.
Sometimes I see a post/comment/etc. and simply don’t have the mental energy to respond. It very likely doesn’t have to do with you or your comment (unless it’s like, really, really bad, and even that line is hard to cross)
My thoughts often come out at point-blank. Sometimes there’s a filter (courtesy of my anxiety), however not always.
- This is my main blog, so therefore it will reflect whatever hyperfixation I currently have at the time. You can probably read this blog like tree rings and be like “and this is when she was heavily into Hollow Knight for a month straight”.
- There are a few subjects that can be found on my blog constantly with varying frequency. These include:
Posts about bugs
Posts about marine biology
Posts with pretty pictures/gifs of nature
Computer programming
LOTS of video game-related stuff.
- With rare exceptions, there are a couple of subjects that will almost never be found on this blog:
Sexually explicit content
Overtly political content
Drama (not that there isn’t much here to begin with that I’m exposed to)
the role of the person in the passenger seat is not only navigator but secretary as well. you have to type up the drivers messages to random ladies on facebook about cbd cream & google whether that billy joel song was the theme song for that show or not
Happy Pride Month everyone! Remember 4 months ago when the CEO of this platform harassed and chased a trans woman off this website just for posting her transition timeline, then chased her to other social media platforms to continue harassing her, and threatened to call the FBI if she continued disputing the multiple dubious terminations of her blogs that did not violate tumblr's terms of service in any way? And despite tumblr staff insisting that the CEO was acting against their interests, the broad transmisogyny evident in the site's culture and moderation policy has still not been adequately addressed?
Remember that staff is continuing to nuke the blogs of trans women even after all of this. Remember this post when they call this site the queerest place on the internet again this month
Boo hoo i'll be able to add more physical storage to my phone and be able to change out batteries if they degrade as well as all these other optional features I won't have to touch
I love how they add totally absurd things no one is asking for to make the idea look crazy. And still, I must emphasize, failing to make this look like a bad idea.
"Is this what you want? Is this ugly stupid bullcrap what you want??" the biggest loudest idiot in the room asks, holding up a picture of the hottest looking shit I've ever seen
-become furiously angry over what seems to be small things
-hit a self destruct button over and over again
-lose all sense of reality
-becoming straight up unable to communicate
-view every situation as life or death
-experience delusions/become vulnerable to irrational worldviews
-perceive hostility where none exists
-become extremely nauseous and/or throw up
-stop engaging in sleeping/eating/basic hygiene
-stop processing sensory input
-process way too much sensory input all at once
-lash out at others/themselves
-and more!
being able to recognize when a human (ie. you or another person) is so stressed out they cannot think clearly is VERY important for conflict resolution and diffusing emotional crisis. highly recommend trying to train yourself at being able to recognize that state of panic- there is a point in which logic and rationality is useless and you have to address the underlying emotional issue first. knowing that saves everyone a lot of pain and struggle.
