Salt-whipped curls lashing my face, coat blown open, scarves asunder, as I stumble over the moors following a drifting cloud.

Sitting in a windowsill at a leaded window blocked from the chill of the rainstorm by draping myself with an extravagant blanket, composing verses.

Drunkard poet friend/lover passed out on my sofa, pen still in hand, spilled ink on the floor. Long nights sitting up together trying to convince each other we aren’t mad and secretly hoping we really are.

Butterfly collection, stacks of books, brocade pillows with tassels, velvet slippers, casual drug addictions, owning a wildly exotic pet, living off of my parents fortunes as their disgraced son they paid to disappear into the family’s summer manor, never to return... ah, the life.
