All of the founding fathers were flawed persons who left a complicated legacy, both good and bad but considering that the constitution was written with the idea that African Americans were only 3/5 human can conservatives possibly consider that maybe it's not an infallible document?

Did you know that hitler supposedly did wonders for the german economy? Under him the first ever transnational highway was built which changed the way the world traveled as we would later go on to copy in the US and many other countries? He was also apparently a loving father and doting husband.

That’s what you sound like when they say that the founders fathers were both “good and bad.” You wouldn’t describe Hitler as a “flawed” person. You wouldn’t talk about his “complicated legacy” because no matter what he did economically or personally, he was a vile, evil, horrid, putrid, human being and the evil that he did absolutely washed out the bad. Him and all the nazi bastards.

I know that wasn’t the point of this ask, but we don’t need to humanize slavers any more than we need to humanize Nazis.

Also, Hitler admired the US government and the many atrocities the government committed against the Native Americans. He mentioned this in his book Mein Kompf and took inspiration from it to later create concentration camps after he took power in Germany. Fuck the Founding Fathers and Fuck Hitler.

And people seem to ignore the fact that all the good things done by these awful people could have easily been done by someone who wasn't a slave owner or mass murderer.

Hitler is not "complex" because some of his policies and actions benefited his country. Any of that could have been achieved just as easily without millions of people having to die.

In fact, without slave owners, without Hitler and other murderous tyrants, there would be millions upon millions of brilliant minds that could have continued to create inventions and policies that could have benefited this world ten times over.

What little they gave us means nothing compared to what they stole and deprived us of. Inventions and policies can always be thought up by someone else. Lives can never be replaced.
