OHGOD *cuddles* okay these are basically my headcanons for the two Ponds and their li'l baby Melody:
Who cried when they brought their child home for the first time: Both. Bringing home their little girl, the immense joy and love was enough to overwhelm the new parents.
Who would wake up in the middle of the night to check on the kid(s): Rory. When Melody was a baby, he would often wake up panicked just to check if she was okay and still breathing. As she grew older, this became more of a habit.
Who changes the kid(s) diapers: Whoever of the two is the first to notice.
Who makes the bottles: Rory
Who stays up late at night to rock the kid(s) to sleep and sing them lullabys: Both. Even though it means the little one is going to be a bit more excited than is necessary at bedtime, both the parents prefer to be there for their child’s bedtime.
Who is guilty of spoiling the kid(s):M/s Grandpa Pond and Williams. Spoiling the junior Ponds is their department, especially Melody.
Who would give the kid(s) cookies in the middle of the night: Neither. Both Amy and Rory are really particular about their kids’ health, so no cookies post bedtime. Melody, though, figured out how to get a cookie from the kitchen at an early age itself (little miss is an expert at climbing out of her crib/bed and scaling the shelves to reach the cookie jar)
Who always takes the kid(s) side: Either of them. It doesn’t mean pampering/spoiling the kids though. If the kids have done something wrong, parents work as a team to correct them.
Who would wake up early to make breakfast for the kid(s) before school: Amy. Waking their kids up in the morning is a task. Unless Rory has been working late, he is the one who has to wake up the kids and get them ready for school. Amy makes breakfast for the kids.
Who gets the kid(s) ready for school in the morning: Like I said, Rory. Working as a nurse has equipped him with various tricks and ideas that he puts to use to get the kids up and about as soon as possible.
Who takes the kid(s) to school: Either Grandpa Pond or Grandpa Williams.
Who goes to parent teacher conferences: Both Amy and Rory take an active role in PTCs.
Who will be the first to suggest to have ‘the talk’ with the kid(s): Rory. Whenever he is around, Rory can’t help but notice how that floppy haired Smith boy and Melody behave around each other. Amy fondly rolls her eyes when he suggests having ‘the talk’ though; she has already made sure Melody knows and understands things.
Who would choose their child(s) prom outfit: Amy. Daddy probably wouldn’t approve most of the dresses Melody picks.
Who would cry when the kid(s) go off to college: Rory
