man it's almost 2016 and still nothing said about the Bone movie adaptions... sucks. 2011 was like the last time they talked about it and Jeff said it'd be done in like 2 years. He said he also saw a 4 minute preview of what it could be like and said it was mind blowing and we still haven't seen that. I just wanna see it become movies! it'd be so great. Wish we knew more
Hey!! I’m so sorry, I fell behind keeping things up, but came back on to announce the big BONE CODA news here! I haven’t heard anything more on the movie either, and I remember hearing about the animation tests...a movie would be really nice! Sometimes they do tests but for whatever reasons, they don’t go through with a project, or put it on the shelf to come back to another time. Fortunately, we will be getting a bit more BONE content come this summer with the 25th Anniversary Bone Coda comic Jeff Smith will be releasing! :)
I’m really sorry this is a late reply, I hope you are still around, Anonymous!!
BONE CODA PREVIEW!! How excited is everyone for this?? First 9 pages! :) can’t wait for this to come out!
First look at BONE: CODA Cartoon Books releases nine page preview of new BONE story! Read here! http://www.boneville.com/bone-coda-9-pg-preview-2/
Columbus, Ohio – May 4, 2016
Cartoon Books is releasing a nine page sneak peek of the new BONE story by creator Jeff Smith. The story, titled BONE: CODA, appears in a new BONE volume of the same name and will ship in July.
The new story will be 32-pages long in black & white, followed by librarian & comics historian Stephen Weiner’s BONE Companion. The BONE Companion is an independent look at the art & world of BONE. The volume concludes with a thank you letter from Smith to the readers, comic shops, and the comics community. Both sections are heavily illustrated with comics and photos.
The first black & white issue of the self-published comic book BONE appeared on comic shop shelves in July 1991, 25 years ago.
BONE: CODA, 120 page trade paperback published by Cartoon Books, will be sold in comic book shops, bookstores and online in July.
BIG NEWS:
New BONE comic by Jeff Smith coming in JULY! BONE:CODA Celebrates 25 years of publishing by Cartoon Books
Columbus, Ohio – April 27, 2016 co·da (ˈkōdə) noun 1. the concluding passage of a piece or movement, typically forming an addition to the basic structure. 2. a concluding event, remark, or section.
25 years after the first black & white issue of the self-published comic book BONE appeared on comic shop shelves, and over a decade since the concluding chapter comes a new (and completely superfluous!) adventure featuring the Bone cousins! Ride along with the boys and their friend Bartleby the Baby Rat Creature as they brave the dangerous journey across the desert back to Boneville in their rickety cow cart. Written and drawn by creator Jeff Smith.
Also included in this new graphic novel is the complete text of The BONE Companion fully illustrated for the first time! Written by award winning comics historian Stephen Weiner, author of 101 Outstanding Graphic Novels, Faster than a Speeding Bullet: The Rise of the Graphic Novel, The Hellboy Companion, and The Will Eisner Companion.
All this plus rare behind the scenes photos & memories (find out what band Jeff listened to most while working; hint: there’s a hidden clue on the image above!), and an afterword by the author thanking the comics community and the readers, all add up to make this a truly special commemorative volume of BONE to add to your collection!
