I thought I’d have to miss SoyCon this year due to the days changing and my boss springing a Saturday on me, but I made it out (for the tail end of it, anyhow)! It was about 90 degrees out, which is perfect weather to celebrate Kagerou by bringing back my Cho cosplay! I got a lot of compliments on it, and it gave me an opportunity to talk about Luka’s comic!
There was a wonderful pair of cosplayers in Rose Quartz and Lapis Lazuli there and we talked a lot about wigs and Worbla. The Rose Quartz had the most beautiful dress (I was so impressed that she made it in two days, and it was perfect)!Â
Thanks to them I’m thinking I may finally put up that wig volumizing tutorial (I can show you the ways of the lightweight and HUGE hair). I originally wanted to do it for gyaru-style wigs, but my gyaru days are long since over, so making the tutorial kind of faded from priority. I don’t know why it never occurred to me that the way I used to style my wigs could be used for Rose Quartz’s hair!
I’m rambling, though… If you were ever putting off going to SoyCon, you should definitely come next year–looks like Soy is closing the book on an era next year, and SoyCon 10 will be the final. It’s a really fun event, and I am most definitely going to miss it.
