But go vegan anyway because itâs still better than eating animals.
It is done! The Modern Male Witch: Kitchen is here! :D
He is a bit messy, but he can always find what heâs looking for, even when some things in his kitchen get a mind of their own. Thereâs a different fragrance in the air every day <3
This is the third piece in my Modern Male Witch Project.

This is me, the person out of frame is my spouse. It is missing the last frame where he says, âNooooooâŠwhy you do dat? đâ because he is a giant wimp about spicy food. hehehe
Recognizing that animals have emotions is important because animalsâ feelings matter. Animals are sentient beings who experience the ups and downs of daily life, and we must respect this when we interact with them. Animals are not only the companions we live with, care for, and love, they are also the billions of other domesticated animals who live on farms and in slaughterhouses and provide us with food and clothing. And wild animals are continually faced with trying to share our ever-crowded world. Our relationship with other animals is a complex, ambiguous, challenging and frustrating affair, and we must continually reassess how we should interact with our nonhuman kin. Part of this reassessment involves asking difficult questions, and making sure our actions match our understandings and beliefs. Thus, I often ask researchers who conduct invasive work with animals or people who work in factory farms: âWould you do that to your dog?â Some are startled to hear this question, but itâs a very important one to ask. If someone wonât do something to their dog that they do daily to other dogs or to mice, rats, cats, monkeys, pigs, cows, elephants or chimpanzees, we need to ask ourselves why. Emotions are the gifts of our ancestors. We have them, and so do other animals. We must never forget this.

if you donât want to see pictures of violence against animals, you need to fight against the violence, not the pictures

Gabourey Sidibe - Portrait by Sam Spratt
A while back, I asked Gabby to come to my studio. Work immediately began and the beginnings of several sketches and pieces started to come together, but I didnât want to rush the main painting so I shelved it while the usual pattern of clients interrupting personal work took over. Many paintings never get finished or see the light of day, both personal and professional, but Gabby was special. I wrote these notes back during her visit:
Her time in my studio was mostly light, ïŹlled with her bubbly energy as we cracked open some beers, exchanged embarrassing drinking stories, taking group photos as if weâd known each other for more than the actual hour we had, and her trying to convince me that she has an actual medical condition where she ïŹnds everything adorable. Youâd be fooled too if you were lied to by an Oscar-nominated actress with her talent. But when I asked her, stripped of any pretension, that if I were to paint her, how sheâd like to be portrayed, she said âI donât really care about how Iâm portrayedâ and then she paused and continued âI guess ⊠did you ever watch the show Community? Ya know how the schoolâs mascot is the human being? I mean, I donât want to be a grey faceless spandex blob like that, but Iâd like to just be a human being. Not someoneâs message or idea of what I stand for because of what I look like, just a human, how youâd paint me if I were anyone else".
Bless!! This is magnificent! Wtf!!!
Yes dammit! ! !
