Never Happy.
A reason why Sokka and Zuko get along really well.
Requested by dontpreachÂ
Beautiful.
This is such a big mood. Speaking as a full-time graduate student in the metro DC area, I donât blame her for waiting. The cost of living here is grotesque.
stfu, this bitch just another LARPing liberal
Like most models, Ocasio-Cortez did not buy the outfit shown here - she rented it for a photo shoot. Also, the clothes come from an environmentally-conscious fashion line, the designers of which are sensible to her political platform.
I see why you omitted these details - sexism is more catchy when you neglect the whole story

Yemen has the worlds worst humanitarian crisis right now.
Hereâs a good organization to donate to: https://www.savethechildren.org/us/what-we-do/where-we-work/greater-middle-east-eurasia/yemen
(not sure why the comparison was made to âJewish people in the holocaustâ????)
this humanitarian crisis is not the result of an earthquake or tsunami or some kind of uncontrollable phenomenon undefeatable by man â it is the direct result of the blockade of Yemen poised by Saudi Arabia and the United States, the entirety of the Arab league and allies like France, Canada and the United Kingdom.Â
Not only must Yemenis face famine, but also cholera outbreaks which cause thousands of new cases everyday. Saudi Arabia has been known to purposely target water, sanitation and health facilities which is worsening the outbreak and resulting in even more deaths (x)
Saudi Arabia is fighting to reassert the presidency of their favoured presidential candidate by starving & assaulting Yemen and is using weapons financed by its western allies and Gulf arab states to do so. (x) (x) (x)
The genocide of Yemeni people is occurring for the sake of assuring power and monopoly over the region for Saudi Arabia and the United States.Â
The USA and Saudi Arabia said nothing when Al-Qaeda took hold of Yemen, they said nothing when ISIS took hold of Yemen, they said nothing when monthly terrorist attacks would claim yemeni lives â but when the pro-U.S. and pro-Saudi Arabia president was removed from power, they carried out the worst assault in modern history of any nation and are starving millions to regain control of Yemen.Â
If thatâs not enough, Saudi Arabia & the U.S. have also worked alongside Al-Qaeda, the same terror organization thatâs been claiming Yemeni lives for decades, to regain control of the region and starve Yemenis into submissionÂ
Oh, this was something else. He damn near destroyed the man.
All that was missing was the mic drop.
No, really. Itâs like a scene out of a popular, critically-acclaimed HBO drama series that ends up winning all the emmys in the end. Â
He fucking gutted the bastard.
That dude should run for President based solely on this video alone.
The rhetorical precision.Â
oh that build
I would love to use this in class to demonstrate the effect of passive voice (it has been reported) and the blend of rhetorical strategies in the final statement. Too bad my County would see it as a skewed lesson.
Anybody else get a definite Socratic feel from this?
Obliterated
The horrified stare the wife gives when she clutches her pears and realizes how utterly fucked Jeff is.
watching this was a great start to my day
Itâs a very uplifting video. Someone is finally being held accountable for their blatant lies and corruption. You donât see that too often in politics.
And itâs not like the dude is even getting angry with Sessions. He is perfectly calm, cold and rational. He came incredibly well-prepared.Â
I think the âYou understand sir, that I get to ask the questions, you provide the answers in this capacity. You are no longer in the US senateâ line was a little dramatic, but, you know, it was cool.Â
So I like it.Â
âPearl clutching!â Iâm screaming.
Every TV screenwriter and actor should study this.
It is better than anything you will see on House of Cards.
Holy green guacamoleâŠ
Decimated
I sat here vibrating with joy and it just kept getting better.
Heâs POLITE. And Sessions is PANICKED and stuttering. A RACIST is being demolished by as black man who is being POLITE.
It literally doesnât get more poetic than this. Shakespeare couldnât have written this level of divine justice. The fucking classics wish they were this classic. The old gods are smirking down on this fucker right now, enjoying the human sacrifice thatâs going down.
From now on, I will end every cool thing I ever say with:Â âI yield back.â
The most articulate version of âtalk shit, get hitâ I have ever heard
Provided that guy avoids any Al Franken-like scandals, he could be going places.
The charisma, sharpness and intelligence he displays here is truly something else.
The questioner is Congressman Hakeem Jeffries from the 8th district of New York.
(Begin transcript) Jeffries: Uh, Mr. Sessions, I have a copy of the transcript of your testimony before the Senate judiciary committee in October. You stated under oath âI donât recallâ in some form or fashion some 29 times. Is that correct? Sessions: I have no idea. Jeffries: I have a copy of the transcript of your testimony before the Senate intelligence committee in June. You stated under oath âI donât recallâ in some form or fashion approximately 36 times. Is that correct? Sessions: I donât know. Jeffries: In your testimony today, you have said âI donât recallâ at least 20 times. Is that fair to say? Sessions: I have no idea. Jeffries: Now, on October 4 2016, during a TV interview with Lou Dobbs, you criticized Hillary Clinton for telling FBI investigators âI canât rememberâ approximately 35 times. You also stated during that Lou Dobbs interview that the intentional failure to remember can constitute perjury. Mr. Attorney General, do you still believe that the intentional failure to remember can constitute a criminal act? Sessions: If itâs, uh, a, uh, act to deceive, yes. Jeffries: K. Now you testified in January that you had no contact with Russian operatives during the Trump campaign. Earlier today, you testified that your story has, quote, ânever changed.â Is that correct? Sessions: (no response) Jeffries: That was your testimony earlier today? That your story has never changed. Correct? Sessions: I believe thatâs, um, fair to say. We might- Jeffries: (talking over) Okay- Sessions: (talking over) -get, ehh, uh, weâve added things that I did not recall at the time. Jeffries: Right, but Iâm not- Sessions: (talking over) But my statement at the time was my best recollection of the circumstances, and, uh, I, as things are brought up, uh- Jeffries: Reclaiming my time. I understand. Sessions: All right. Jeffries: Sir, you now acknowledge, uh, meeting with Ambassador Kislyak during the Republican National Convention. Correct? Sessions: I remember I made a speech, he came up to me afterwards I was standing in front of the speaker (unintelligble) and, uh, did chat with him- Jeffries: (talking over) Okay, thank you, and you also- Sessions: (talking over) (unintelligible) not a meeting, it was just, uh, an, uh, encounter at that time. Jeffries: Okay, and you also, uh, met with the ambassador in September of 2016 in your office as youâve acknowledged. Correct? Sessions: (talking over) Yes, for an appointment. I had two senior staffers, both full Colonels in United States Army, retired, in, in the meeting- Jeffries: (talking over) Now you testified- Iâm sorry. You testified in June before the Senate intelligence committee that you had not heard even a whisper about possible Russian involvement in the Trump campaign. Yet we understand you attended this March 31, uh, meeting with George Papadopoulos, talked about potential communications with Russian operatives, uh, but also, according to your third quarter 2016 FTC filing, you hosted a Trump campaign dinner meeting on June 30 2016 at the Capitol Hill Club, is that right? Sessions: Thatâs correct. I was- Jeffries: (talking over) And your Senate reelection campaign paid for that meeting, is that right? Sessions: Uh, I, I think that may be so. Jeffries: Okay, and Carter Page and George Papadopoulos both attended that June 30 meeting, correct? Sessions: (hesitates) That has been reported. Jeffries: And at that meeting, Carter Page told you that the- that he was going to Moscow in a few days, is that right? Sessions: (hesitates) Yes. Jeffries: Okay. At- Sessions: (talking over) Uh, um, and he, um- Jeffries: (talking over) Thank you, thank you- Sessions: (talking over) He said it was a brief meeting as he was walking out the door, I donât recall that conversation, but, uh, Iâm not able to dispute it, and- Jeffries: Understood. Reclaiming my time, Iâve got limited, uh, time available- Sessions: (talking over) That is not, uh, did that establish a, uh, some sort of improper contact with Russians? Jeffries: (talking over) I think you understand, I think you understand that- Sessions: (talking over) Heâs not Russian either, you know. Jeffries: (talking over) You understand, sir, I get to ask the questions, you provide the answers. In this capacity youâre no longer in the United States Senate. Uh, you voted in 1999 to remove Bill Clinton from office on charges of perjury, correct? Sessions: That is correct. Jeffries: And connected- Sessions: (talking over) Uh, there were other charges, Iâm, I voted for impeachment, yes. Jeffries: (talking over) Simple- Simple question. Yes, I understand. To remove him, actually; impeachmentâs in the House. In connection with that vote to remove President Clinton from office, you gave this speech on the Senate floor on February 29, 1999, and in it, you acknowledge, uh, that while serving as U.S. Attorney, you once prosecuted a young police officer who lied in a deposition. And in that speech, you decided to prosecute that young police officer even though he corrected his testimony. Now youâve testified under oath before the Senate judiciary committee in January. You subsequently corrected that testimony in a March 6 written submission, and have been forced repeatedly to come back to the Senate and now the House to clarify. When explaining your vote on the Senate floor to remove Bill Clinton from office, you stated that you refuse to hold a President accountable to a different standard than the young police officer who you prosecuted. Let me be clear: The Attorney General of the United States of America should not be held to a different standard than the young police officer whose life you ruined by prosecuting him for perjury. I yield back.

About 60,000 nationalists and far-right extremists assemble in Warsaw on Saturday for Independence Day march that has become one of the largest gatherings in Europe and perhaps beyond for increasingly emboldened white supremacists; A smaller counter-protest by an anti-fascist movement also took place, drawing about 2,000 participants.
Polish people:Â Collaborate with the Nazis, hunt down their Jewish neighbours and steal their homes and belongings, murder Holocaust survivors to prevent them from reclaiming any of said homes and belongings, turn Jewish headstones into pavements, goad most remaining Jews into leaving the country due to extreme anti-Semitism.Â
Also Polish people: âJewish people have all the power in Poland.â
Also Polish people on tumblr.com: Poland isnât antisemitic how dare you imply we hate the dirty Jooz
You people are so guillible it is disgusting.
11th of November is Polish independence day. Which was celebrated with a march of 60k people. As it is done every fucking year. Only a handful were right extremists.
âPolandâs Foreign Ministry said Monday that it strongly condemns racist, anti-Semitic and xenophobic ideas, but insisted that a large weekend march by nationalists in Warsaw was largely an expression of patriotic feeling.
The ministry said that the march Saturday on the Independence Day holiday was âa great celebration of Poles, differing in their views, but united around the common values of freedom and loyalty to an independent homeland.â
The event was organized by groups that trace their roots to radical nationalist pre-World War II anti-Semitic groups. About 60,000 people, including families, took part.
But there were also young men carrying banners with messages including âWhite Europe of brotherly nations.â
Some carried the Celtic Cross, a white supremacist symbol, and there were reports that people chanted slogans against Jews and had anti-Islam banners.â
You were fucking saying?
Dr. Gu told BuzzFeed News he was simply supporting black Americans after Trump's remarks, but he believes he's now being told to stay quiet, grateful, and act as the "silent model minority".
âThe common theme among these white supremacists is to accuse me of âAsian privilege,ââ Gu said. âTheir arguments were that because I went to Stanford and Duke Medical School, I should be thankful and not complain about systemic racismâŠâ
âIt struck me as incredibly racist because I have every right to show solidarity with African-Americans in this country, my fellow Americans, who are subjected to police brutality and injusticeâŠâ
âIn fact, successful white Americans and Hollywood stars comment about this all the time. Why is it that I, as an Asian-American, cannot comment on prevailing social and racial issues affecting America today? Do I have no voice?â Gu added.
Perfect case study of how the model minority myth/perceived whiteness of East Asians is used to damage antiracist efforts
âIf you are in this to see change in your lifetime, get out now.â Â Love this story.
Wow. Still canât believe this history is repeating itself.
Sure, these guys embrace working class culture when it's en vogue, but while retaining their contempt for working class people, explains Dawn Foster.
Orwellâs approach, adopting the dress and lifestyle of the working classes to report on them is still endemic today. The poverty safari approach â where a middle class person goes âundercoverâ as a member of the underclass to expose the realities of low paid life â is still regarded as the height of investigative work on social issues. Barbara Ehrenreichâs Nickeled and Dimedhas spawned dozens of copycat books, each less valuable than the original. The idea that you could simply ask, or commission, people in these jobs what their life is like and listen to them seems ludicrous to many journalists, failing as it does to provide them with any kudos for fleetingly enduring hardship and sacrifice themselves.
There are thousands of Hetty Douglasâs in modern Britain though: people who went to boarding school but never mention it, and spend their days eulogising about going to Greggs and Wetherspoons as if it shows how grounded and open-minded they are. No working class person I know does the same, because for most people going to McDonalds isnât a notable event in which theyâre deviating in what is acceptable for their class. Theyâre buying food or ordering a pint, not going on a class-crossing field trip to an alien territory in which they feel comfortable because being middle class affords you the confidence to feel entitled to enter any space you wish.
Instagramming photos from your Wetherspoons crawl seems exciting and exotic when you have the privilege to adopt any class signifier you like. But being working class hasnât ever meant people treat me or friends with any wide-eyed respect. Instead Iâm spoken to as if Iâm stupid, have scorn poured on the fact I decided against going to Oxford, have people make openly scornful jokes about the areas we come from especially post-Brexit, or slag off âbenefit scroungersâ even after pointing out you grew up on benefits.
Playing class dress up is so irritating because it doesnât erode discrimination and snobbery based on class. Common People by Pulp was a criticism not an instruction manual. Tweeting and effusing about working class signifiers grates because middle class people have the cultural privilege to do so without reprisals, while working class people are still discriminated against openly day in and day out.
If you went to boarding school and are bankrolled by your parents, own it, and be honest about your privilege: donât think donning an Adidas tracksuit and tweeting about going to Greggs for lunch is anything other than offensive and embarrassing.

i had a discussion today with a friend who was genuinely trying to understand why people are working so hard to ID the charlottesville nazis and contact their employers. âbut wonât that just make them more desperate and violent?â they asked. âif they get fired from their jobs or kicked out of school? if they think they have nothing to lose?â
and i said, âi donât know. maybe. but right now, these motherfuckers think they can be nazis on the weekend.â
like, i somewhat understood my friendâs hesitance re: doxxing, because doxxing is so often a tool of evil. but these motherfuckers think they can show up to a white supremacist rally on saturday where people got fucking murdered by white supremacists, and then on monday they can go back to the IT desk and log into outlook and answer their fucking office phone. they think they can show up to a rally on saturday with a shield and a helmet and beat black teenagers with fucking sticks in a parking garage, and on monday they can be back on campus, taking notes in accounting. these putrid pieces of human garbage think they can be nazis all weekend, and then on thursday they can go to the professional development workshop with the department and enjoy those brownies that diane brought in.
no. no, they fucking cannot.
if you want to be a goddamned weekend nazi, you have to be a nazi every goddamned day. you want to be a weekend nazi? then you face the fucking music on monday, you cowardly piece of shit. you go ahead and live in a world where your hatred of other people means nobody wants to hire you, work with you, live with you, break bread with you; you hateful fuck. you get to suffer the natural consequences of your belief in the lesser humanity of others. you get to live the outcome of your violence, your acts of bigotry. you get to live your ugly truth, alone.
Black people donât get to stop being black. Jewish people donât get to stop being jewish. Minorities live their truth every waking moment of their lives, so these wastes of space can live their chosen identity 24/7/365 as well.
