The teary-eyed ghost was hovering over one of the only untouched desks in the entire building. Even when he was overcome with rage, he never tossed up Elliot's desk, but-- "I thought, out of everyone, at least you would have cared. It's been a long time--was it my fault? Did I do something wrong? Is that why I can't leave? Is that why you never came to see me? I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.."
"Fellow freckle-face! Have you seen a notebook lying around? My detective duties depend on it!" She hadn't gotten any further with her investigation, but she was proud of all the hours put into her research.
Some might assume that Tyler's bitterness and need to chase off visitors came from his unfair death. But he got over being upset at Elliot. He forgave him and still does. It was his parents. They visited the abandoned building, hearing that their child haunted it. In the very beginning, his telekinesis powers were very unstable, and seeing his parents for the first time since he died made the ability go out of control. Chased away by the fear of having lethally heavy objects thrown at them, the two moved away from the town-- Leaving a very bitter and brokenhearted son to be stuck in the school with no means of escape.
The visitor didn’t move an inch, seemingly unphased by Tyler’s advances save the look of annoyance on their face. As things flew around, nothing hit the visitor, in fact, anything that came close seemed to ricochet away and fly off somewhere else.
There was no method to how they flew, but the visitor wasn’t sure where the furniture was coming from, so there wasn’t anywhere it could go back to to stop. But everything seemed to be under control as things flew off of some invisible aura around the visitor. So they laid their head on their knees and closed one eye. The other stayed wide open to continue concentration.
The stranger was strange in more than their appearance it seemed. With a quirked eyebrow, he eyed his futile attempts at throwing anything at the visitor, only for the object to fly off and crash somewhere else in the room. At first, it was vexing and frustrating, not being able to faze the other. He thought it was his own incompetence. Curiosity quickly took over, though, and with an elaborate and unnecessary swoop of his hand, everything returned to its original place, albeit more worn out than before. There was no use in scaring the stranger if his usual method didn't work. Peeling himself from his spot on the wall, Tyler chose to hover over the strange visitor, arms folded across his chest and a child-like pout forming on his face. "Hey. What did you do?"
The reptile kept an eye of his target, grey eyes unmoving as he followed carefully, aware of making no sounds. He found himself almost rolling his eyes upon noticing that the woman was making her way into a nearby empty street, free of anyone’s sight. It was almost too easy, and she should have been thankful that he wasn’t here to kill her. Naoki didn’t plan on telling her who he was, or anything really information wise. He was just going to kick her face in for doing such callous things to someone he cared so much about that he was going at great lengths to ensure he’d get away with it. Tapping into his abilities, he allowed scales to form over his skin, claws growing. Large grey eyes increased in size slightly, becoming mere orbs, the demon picking up speed, standing up at full height before jumping off the rooftop, slamming a hand into the ground not far from where the woman was standing. Raising himself to full height, he let out a loud cry, fangs producing themselves as he resorted to a full out growl.
It was too optimistic to think that she had been worrying too much, that the crawling dread was just her imagination and she could return home without having to deal with anything but homework. Hearing the whir behind her, she whipped her head back, just managing to catch sight of the blurring figure--curse her horrible habit of not wearing her glasses when she needed them--before it landed on the ground, close enough to send off shudder-inducing warning signs. Riley cautiously shuffled back before even getting a proper look at the attacker, instincts taking over her actions. Her first thought had been to bolt--there was no use in unnecessary fighting, especially if she was unsure of victory--but one glance at the creature erased any hope of that working. Paralyzing fear seized her, legs trembling under her at seeing the scale-clad monster. It was feral in every sense, from the fangs to the frightening growl, and even she had trouble understanding how she hadn't collapsed from fear. Taking a shuddering breath, she steeled her nerves and willed her voice to stabilize. Shoulders stiffened, every muscle prepared for running or combat, "Can I help you?" Funny, something this monstrous only brought to mind one person.
Someone had in fact entered the abandoned building. But they weren’t someone local, nor anyone known for that matter. They looked much like they’d never seen a shred of civilzation—messy and dirty, wearing nothing but a lab coat and some covering. But here they were in this abandoned building as outside it stormed. At least they had the common knowledge to come in out of the rain.
But the building was unfamiliar to them as well, so the stories of it being haunted were things they didn’t know about. Danger was the least of their concerns as they found a nice corner to sit down in, huddling up and holding their legs close.
"What did the rain drag in?" Tyler didn't even attempt to mask his confusion as he poked his head into the room, the rest of his translucent body submerged into the classroom wall. Out of all the people--mostly comprised of giggling kids that dared each other to spend a night in the haunted school--that came into the building, this one had to be one of the strangest. No sympathy was given to the stranger, though, not from this bitter apparition. Well, visitors meant entertainment, at least. Clicking his tongue and smirking, he brought the objects in the room to life. Desks toppled over along with rows of chairs, and broken pencils scattered into the air, sending the room into a maelstrom of chaos. Terrorizing the living was his favorite past time. "I don't care that it's raining. Get out."
It didn’t take long to trail the scent he managed to catch off his closest friend, it also didn’t take long for Naoki to narrow his search upon seeing this particular individual. Grey eyes watched closely as he kept his body flat on the ground, stalking quietly across nearby rooftops, doing what snakes do best.
Hunt.
Regardless, she chose to heed her sixth sense, tucking away her book into her backpack before sweeping the area once more. When the search yielded no results, she sighed, turning on her heel and making her way into an empty street. It was better to deal with any conflict without involving innocent bystanders, right? Maybe she wouldn't have chosen to do so, had she known the one on her trail was a demon.
Oh, there goes someone entering into the abandoned building. "How many times does a ghost need to chuck furniture for people to get the idea that it's dangerous here?"
"Hmm." Premonition crawled across her skin, too much of a distraction to keep reading her novel. Maybe she was being paranoid.
Errands were usually given to someone else to do, but he wanted to get some fresh air today, even if his leg wasn't cooperating. Wheeling himself to the nearest stranger, he asked, "Excuse me? Would you happen to know where the grocery store is?"
WHAT MAKES YOU FEEL BETTER WHEN YOU ARE IN A BAD MOOD?
"There’s no such thing as a bad mood when you’re living your dream!" The truth, though? He just piles himself with more work as distraction.
