2025 has been a really disappointing year. I've never really had much faith in people, but feeling and being betrayed by so many friends this year was really sad. And now I'm angry and sad again and tomorrow I'll have to discuss things with a friend of mine and surely nothing will be solved, it'll just be a waste of time.

I'm so sick of this. Why do I always have to be the bigger person? Why do I have to look out for people, to be present for them, to be nice and caring? I'm sick of this, I want to be cared for, for once. Fuck everyone

I don't think people understand the degree to which society is kept alive by the labor of the least well-regarded professions. If sewage technicians and sanitation workers and their expertise and knowledge were to disappear tomorrow, the streets would pile high with bodies in every city. We live in a world where we get to be blessedly ignorant to just how fast, how brutally and how violently cholera can rip through a community. How many babies it can kill. How many elderly bodies it can devour alive. You've never seen what it's like when typhoid takes root.

"Oh but we have modern medicine" if you don't have clean drinking water and a way to dispose of your piss and shit and trash you are going to fucking die. No if or but or maybe, you are dead, and so are half the people you know.

since i've been back to the hildecolossus insanity i've been actively trying to browse through all of the stuff that i might've missed in the last few years and let me tell you there's not that much to have missed if barely anything happens. HOWEVER, i'm HOLLERING at the fact that it's virtually impossible to post ANYTHING on Moers's official FB page without getting Castle-related questions

i've also seen several people on discord muse that all of the recent book publications have been deliberately more jokey/lighthearted because one's palate might need a thorough cleanse before tasting the full glory of the dark monstrosity that "The Castle..." is probably going to be. not sure if i believe that but GOD wouldn't that be awesome????
