I actually like his ending. love the concept that Katniss can forgive him in theory for the Prim incident (which btw. was literally Nawt something he did. people act like he dropped the bomb. I mean he very much did say guys should we do war crimes and Coin said wow great idea traumatised child soldier! but he didn’t actually kill Prim) but can’t be near him. I think that’s so fascinating and kinda sexy. like I know it wasn’t your direct fault but don’t come to my house ever again. post-series he’s living somewhere being miserable, probably in politics and good at it, and hooking up with Johanna on weekends I think

I don’t subscribe to the Katniss treated him badly concept because they were traumatised children who had bigger problems HOWEVER he ate with the you always kiss me when you feel bad for me or whatever

I made Mr. Fulviavincit watch the hunger games once and he spent the entire series being like Gale was right and did nothing wrong and that fucking KILLED me this 32 year old chronically offline man skipped the discourse and went straight to violence is the answer. so i’ll always have a soft spot for that
