Mod Subaki's Thoughts on Engage Part II

I guess. I never came back and added more to the original so. Whatever. I'm currently replaying it and things are starting to come back to me. Spoilers maybe I guess? Game is over a year old now though...

- Sombron's whole story is extremely dumb. "I can't find my guy and y'all make me jealous so I'm gonna destroy you" basically

- Although Alear's hair colors make sense given their backstory, I believe it would make more sense (and also look a lot better) if their hair at the bottom was red and it turned blue the closer you get to the roots.

So like their hair grew as red when they were evil, and started to turn more purple and then into blue as Lumera started transferring her power to them.

- Alfred is still so so fruity. Him and Boucheron's supports... There's just no denying it.

- My cousin's favorite is Rosado so I guess he kinda grew on me.

- I don't remember the DLC story enough to really comment though...

- On a related note, WE WERE ROBBED OF ALM!! Why did we get Victoria?? Heroes is not even a mainline FE game...? And the whole summoning thing thrown into the game is not helpful at all imo. We could've had it all... We could've had Alm... Also we should've had Azura instead of Camilla but I'm not as upset about that as not having Alm.

A lot of this is just my personal thoughts and complaining about certain parts. That's not to say there's nothing good about it, and I will elaborate in a reblog.

Things Mod Subaki Likes About Engage

The game received a whole lot of shit. That's just common knowledge. Some of it makes a lot of sense but some of it I think is a little too harsh... Like some people are just hating on it because they like to hate. As they say, "haters gonna hate".

- The character design. I really don't think it's as bad as a lot of people make it out to be. Especially coming back to it after a while. Sure there's some characters whose designs I'm not fond of, but every game has those.

I already addressed my own issue with Alear's design, which I think could be better definitely. But take characters like Etie, Louie, and Lapis for example. Are they really that poorly designed? I see nothing wrong with them personally. Imagine how they'd look in a previous game's art style and you'll realize they're not too different.

- Related, I think a lot of it just comes from the art/3D style. It's different, and that's what's jarring about it. I didn't like 3H's art style at first either but it grew on me too. That being said, I still have my preferences when it comes to art style, but the Engage style is not bad once you get used to it.

- Some of the characters aren't exactly too... deep for lack of a better word, but that doesn't mean they're not unique. Especially considering they're all from a world that was peaceful up until the game started, there's not a lot of reason for them to have deep backgrounds. Unlike a lot of the other games whose characters only have half a family, because they've been struggling in a world riddled with conflict and war for much longer.

- Maybe the storyline isn't too complex either, but all things considered, it's just supposed to be a fun game that commemorates how far the series has come. It also takes a look at the previous games and introduces newer players to some of the characters, plots, and recurring themes from the series. Both of those things I personally believe the game accomplished.

It's also much less of a letdown than few3h which would've been so much better as a warriors 2 Who said that
