This is my Sesame Street side blog where I post all my Sesame Street-related stuff (art, headcanons, etc). HOWEVER, I may also post other Muppet-related stuff here, so that's cool

Bert and Ernie have always been a gay couple. Deal with it. And why is it cute to have heterosexual couples on kids shows but suddenly 'adult themed' as soon as it's a gay couple? It's not as if the muppets are engaging in mock sodomy on screen.

This is just another case of Christians exposing their strange incapacity to pick up on the subtext of their favorite shows. First they went after Nu-trek for being too woke and now they're attacking Sesame Street. How could they not notice all the all the gay innuendo and coded trans characters in those shows? Apparently you have to slap them in the face with that stuff before they see it.

But it doesn't matter. Bert's never going to get a girlfriend and though Nu-Trek is deeply flawed in many other ways, the gay isn't going away from those shows either. Christians can seethe.

This isn’t much of a regular post, just me rambling with a slightly controversial opinion

It feels weird how persistent children’s media is in teaching kids how to share. Like it is a good lesson and teaches kids to not be selfish and all but the execution of said thing is…not the best.

Here’s an example I have for this, a childhood movie about a particular red monster; the adventures of Elmo in grouchland

In this movie, Elmo loses his special blanket and while trying to get it back, learns the importance of sharing

While this movie could be a good way to teach children, there’s one scene that sort of ruins the message, for me at least.

Near the beginning of the movie, Elmo’s friend Zoey asks if she could have Elmo’s blanket. Elmo says no but Zoey keeps going, wanting the blanket to the point she’s trying to take the blanket out of Elmo’s hands and ripping the blanket.

Elmo was rightfully upset at this and this movie proceeds to make him look like the bad guy for getting upset that one of his friends was trying to pry his blanket out of his hands.

It is important to have kids learn about sharing like snacks or something like that, but you also need to teach them that not everyone is willing to share the things, specifically if that thing is something they own

Wouldn’t be surprised if kids might either take advantage of sharing as a way for them to have anything they want or it could make them feel like they can’t say no and they’ll be rude to set up boundaries

I really needed to rant about this, obviously you can have your own opinions on it, but I was just speaking my mind lol
