its so fucking lonely being a trans woman on here who cares about transmasculine people
like, you spend months trying to uplift your brothers because so many others are treating them like shit, only for some of the people you considered your allies to turn around and start being transmisogynistic. talking about sex based oppression, making fun of transfems for their usernames, kink-shaming them, pedo-jacketing them, the list goes on. you can’t feel safe because even though you don’t agree with the transfems this transmisogyny is being directed towards, besides the fact that it’s obviously disgusting to be transmisogynistic in any scenario, it shows you that all it takes is for people to disagree with you about something or for you to be wrong about something, and that same transmisogyny will be directed at you. you see the few other transfeminine people who have also been trying to uplift transmasculine people get harassed out of these spaces that you thought were safe.
so you try and get out of the discourse. spend more time with non-serious stuff. you look at trans memes, follow other trans women who have similar interests to you, but the discourse follows you.
you try and find posts about transmisogyny, the suffocating oppressive force that is obvious in the way the majority of people treat you every single day. you try and brush off tme/tma usage because, sure, its not perfect, but we need terminology to talk about this stuff, and most of the posts you see are generally accurate. but then the vitriol starts coming in. ‘tranandrobros’ this and ‘tMRA’ that. posts implying or explicitly saying you must be tme if you disagree them. and you sigh, and try and block and move on, but the posts just keep coming.
so you give up. stop following the transfem blogs who are putting this stuff on your feed, but by the time you’ve done that you barely have any left, and almost none of them talk about transmisogyny at all, let alone often or in depth.
why should i have to choose. why do i have to pick between finding community with my sisters, finding people who can relate to my struggles with transmisogyny, but turning my back on my brothers, or standing up for transmasculine people, but knowing many of my sisters will hate me for it, and that the people i’m trying to defend may well sink a blade of transmisogyny in my back at any moment. i don’t want to pick between caring about one intersection of misogyny and transphobia and the other. i care about both.
“I ain’t reading all that” your brain is rotting and shrinking
she deserves it! she works so hard and is barely getting by. give her some sugar!!

girl with hypnotic aphrodisiac sweat: "you mind if i take my shoes off in here?"
People love natives in such a superficial way. People wanna stand with natives when we’re talking about the trees, and the land. People wanna stand with natives when we talk about philosophies of love and togetherness. But as soon as it’s time to talk about political side of being native. About dismantling a system built on the genocide of our people. About how we need a new system that isn’t built upon capital gain and benefitting white bodies. About putting up a fight. About how the colonial state we reside in is a disgusting imperial plague on this land. Suddenly y’all don’t wanna talk native.
"They spent hundreds of years trying to assimilate my ancestors, trying to create indians like me, who could blend in, but now they don’t want me either. They can’t make up their minds.
They want buckskin and face paint, drumming, songs in languages they can’t understand recorded for them but with English subtitles, of course. They want educated, well spoken, but not too smart. Christian, well behaved, never question. They want to learn the history of the people, but not the ones that are here now, waving signs in their faces, asking them for clean drinking water, asking them why their women are going missing, asking them why their land is being ruined.
They want fantastical stories of Indians that used to roam this land. They want my culture behind glass in a museum.
But they don’t want me." -Shelby Lisk
damn he really is an all-time poster
I see how it is. Rihanna can wear a shiny, completely transparent dress in public and everyone loves it, but when I did it, I was “wasting saran wrap” and “ruining Easter, Daniel.”
This post is transmisogynistic. Literally you could have just left out the name and it would have been a harmless joke but, alas, man in a dress punchline, hilarious
ten years on I’m finally comfortable publicly making fun of this person who called me transmisogynistic for using my own name to refer to myself in a joke post, because they thought the joke was that I was a man wearing women’s clothing, and not that I showed up to a religious holiday with my dick fully visible. Happy easter, everyone!
