i’m disappointed in this fandom.
these are my honest feelings as a sherlock fan, a johnlock supporter, and a member of this fandom.
i kinda thought the we were better than this, honestly. i thought we were stronger than this. i thought we were the type of fans that support, understand, and appreciate the series for what it is and whatever it becomes.
obviously not.
look. regardless of what you thought of the finale, the show ended how the creators wanted it to. they followed through on what THEY thought would be right for the characters. even if you disagree, i expected you all to have a shred of decency or respect for mark and steven.
instead, what do y’all do? harass them and their fellow producers on twitter, shit talk the finale, and basically destroy the culmination of what they’ve been working for all this time. sherlock is, was, THEIR show. and instead of sending the series off feeling thankful and appreciating what we’ve been given, so many of you are ready to be terrible human beings and start a shit show over a ‘dissatisfactory ending’.
my GOD, is it so hard to accept the fact that the show didnt end how you wanted it to? is it that mind-numblingly difficult for you people to understand that this show wasn’t, and never was, ours?
it was made for us - it was GIVEN to us by the producers, directors, actors, and every other person responsible. we were lucky to have been able to be a part of this series and take part in it’s story. we were blessed to have been given an amazing piece of art such as BBC’s sherlock.
so please, pack up your shit and leave if you’re going to continue to tear the finale to shreds and blame steven and mark. because you’re not a real fan, and you never have been.
Well, I loved it.
Yes, the ending was cheesy, but I still loved the episode. It'not one of the bests, and the opening was weird (given the ending of the last one, I was waiting for a confrontation) but it had great moments. Sherlock calling John family, John and Sherlock working together (Soldiers!), Mycroft as a human being and looking how well his brother worked with John, the Holmes Brothers interaction, John ready to sacrifice himself, Sherlock breaking down, Lestrade being asked to look after Mycroft (well, Mystrade Shippers!!).. I can see the armada of fix-it fanfiction already, and I’m looking forward to it. So, Johnlock did not happen, but otherwise? What a ride it was! Still breathless.. Wow. But I’m sad that it looks like the end. I can’t get my thoughts in order yet, but it was definitely an episode that kept a strong hold of me the whole time. Emotional rollercoaster, without the most wanted uphill, yes, but a mighty good ride still.
I'm going to come out and say it...
I genuinely liked this episode. No, we did not get Johnlock on the show, but was anyone seriously expecting we would? This is the BBC we’re talking about. Want your Johnlock fix? We’ve got thousands of fanfics and fanart for that. We’ve created our own AU and got in so deep we mistook it for cannon. No. What we got instead was beautiful cinematography, an amazing soundtrack, two of the best male leads out there (if not the best). Plenty of action. Clever puzzles. A bit of insight into the relationships between the characters (under life and death circumstances no less!). A couple of jaw dropping plot twists. And an ACD homage ending. After all: though the world explode, these two survive and it is always 1895.
Dear Sherlock fans of Tumblr
I get that this maybe wasn’t what you were expecting. But actually it was good. I’m sorry a lot of you started writing before you got to the end, so you didn’t realise that half of the plot was just inside her head, and the other half, yeah it wasn’t explained entirely, but we knew she was manipulating people. And I’m sorry if you think it is ridiculous, and unrelastic, but trust a person who has actually spoken to some of the most dangerous people in Britain, her abilities aren’t far off the mark. But the point of this episode? It wasn’t about solving a crime, that’s what comes after, when they’re all back in 221B Baker Street drinking tea. This episode was about ripping them down to their cores. Realising that the Homes boys feel way more than they wish to, and actually John is the least emotional “the solider” the one who breaks the least, despite what Sherlock wants to believe. Despite Sherlock trying to give the gun to Mycroft, John was the one who came closest to shooting the governor. This episode made them face their fears together, and made them break one another’s facades. I’m sorry if you didn’t like it, I truly am, it may be because it wasn’t what you were expecting. Honestly it was so much more. You may not appreciate it right now, but give it time, watch it again in a few weeks after you’ve been able to think hard about what makes us human, and then, I hope you’ll see what I saw. If not, please don’t let it ruin trying to watch the next series.
I can live with this being the end of Sherlock (season 4). It’s just so pure! Thank you!
Honestly y'all get your shit together. I mean no harm or anything but suddenly giving the whole of Sherlock a bad name mainly because your otp isn’t canon is childish beyond words.
I personally loved the episode and am still at a loss for words, this was unexpected and very, very great.

Okay, that finale didn’t bother me that much (definitely didn’t impress me either) because everyone already predicted that/had an idea of something like that happening anyway.
What DOES bother me is that the liars (Aria, Hanna, Emily, and Spencer) have NO relevance to the overall plot of the show whatsoever. Like the show doesn’t even really need them, it could be any four girls being stalked, it doesn’t matter who. The beginning of the show made it feel like the girls were responsible for something that caused this to happen to them, which would make more sense, but that’s not even true at all. The whole plot always goes back to the DiLaurentis family and their missing family members who pop out of nowhere. It would be so much more interesting if one of the girls, or their family members, had a twin who was working with another family member of another girl or something to connect them all together to make sense of why it’s always those four. It just bothers me that the show is based around four girls who don’t even matter to what’s really going on in the show. Why does Uber A even bother torturing them anyway? To find out who killed Cece? As if they know? I’m just bored.
Marlene: Emison has some intimate moments in the finale
