to 'Bobby Drake is Brunette' purists,
what if I gave you a secret third option... Bobby Drake is a dirty blonde. That man is blonde in the summer and brunette in the winter. Change my mind. Now you can enjoy any piece of X-Men art you like.
Another path on the journey to acceptance is that he just likes to go to the salon sometimes.

Jean Grey - Astonishing X-Men costume concept.
I've been wanting to fully colour this costume for a while now, sorry the anatomy isn't great, I'm still learning <3 Thank you for your feedback last time, I think the green looks really great.
I feel like you could add a Phoenix symbol in the chest - I find it really interesting to picture Jean during this era, what would she be doing? Would her and Scott still be together? What would happen with him and Emma if she didn't die at that super convenient time?
You can see my original sketch here! Along with the thought process when it came to deciding the shapes and feel of the costume :)
Any tips or feedback is more than welcome x
Hi guys, just wanted to say sorry for the break. You might notice that a lot of my art says 'from a few months ago' or 'old sketches of _' or something similar. That's because most of them are quite old, from around the time I was finishing Uni. I can't lie, I've had a crazy art block from the pure stress of 3 years of sewing and painting nonstop - not for fun, for work. (Anyone who's ever studied art, or anything actually, I'm sure you understand.)
Anyway, I want to start drawing, painting and posting more. My well-needed break is coming to an end! I know I have to work on my anatomy and 'same face syndrome', but I do have a weird style, so we'll see how it develops.
And to my anonymous messenger from May 9th, yes, more Jean Grey art coming soon! Thanks so much to everyone who's liked and re-posted my art :) It means so much!
When I was younger, I had a Marvel graphic novel simply entitled "Girl Comics." Inside, there was one story that I now know was called "Chaos Theory," and I never really knew who it was about, because the main character went unnamed. I sketched and watercoloured this picture this evening, from my memory of the story - I'm not sure why I was thinking about it, but I was. All I could remember was the butterfly imagery, and the connection the butterflies had to souls - also that the character had long, wavy hair. I had a feeling it was red, so that was the colour I went with. Luckily, after a long Google search, I figured out that this character was Satana, and I probably shouldn't have been reading that issue when I was so young.
"Chaos Theory" written by Kelly Sue DeConnick and illustrated by Adriana Melo and Mariah Benes. Sorry for the low-quality image.
Weird question, but I need to know what the public thinks.
In your opinion, should Jean Grey have red or more orange/ginger hair? For example, when she eventually appears in the MCU what hair colour would you prefer?
This is purely just because I'm interested, not trying to start the Jean Grey hair colour war.
Her hair is...
Red! ❤️
Ginger/ More Orange! 🧡
Let me know in the comments if you have any head-cannons or a more sinister, third answer.
Costume concept for my girl Jean if she was alive and un-phoenixed during the Astonishing X-Men era. I couldn't decide on the colours (either blue or green with gold accents), so I left it as a working sketch. I was mostly inspired by Cyclops and Wolverine's costumes as they echo back to Jim Lee's designs but with a modern edge.
A few random X-Men sketches from the post-uni sketchbook of despair.

Jean, to Phoenix, to Dark Phoenix - a progression as inevitable as death.
I was really proud of this Sketch originally but I kinda ruined it with the pencils, not sure why I keep using them when I'm mainly a watercolour artist. Sorry that this is not as polished as the other stuff on here, I no longer have access to a scanner or Photoshop 💔 But I hope you like this nonetheless xx

Biblically accurate X-mens
This is so cool, I love it sm
Jean Grey/Phoenix
Inspired more by the White Phoenix of the Crown, this was a 'goddess' idea I had, but would also work for the Hellfire Gala or something like that. If anyone would like to use this design or edit it, please feel free!
A collection of Jean Grey sketches from one of my costume modules last year, imagining a 1960s X-Men TV show, where I designed different outfits for the original 5 X-Men (inc. Scarlet Witch and Magneto).
Costumes were inspired by fashion designers and other TV shows from the time (Star Trek, Pierre Cardin, Mary Quant, etc.)
My casting for Marvel Girl was Sherry Jackson. So close-up face studies are inspired by her likeness.
If anyone would like to know more, please let me know <3
Wow, there are so many bots on this site. I had no idea until I started posting, seriously every time I post something it's "🤖🤖🤖" in the comments :/ any one else have this?
A couple of old-ish Anne Boleyn watercolours, was just a test and they got a bit messed up. Also used watercolours and fine liners for a couple of the details.
