So, who am I?

I’m a translator, small business owner, community builder, and lifelong lover of all things cozy. I’m obsessed with stationery (give me all the pastel pens and planner stickers), books (rom-coms—hello enemies to lovers, poetry, magical realism...you name it), and slow mornings with cafecito. I could talk for hours about bilingual wordplay, but I also light up when fall hits, cozy games drop, and Taylor Swift releases a surprise album. Although I don’t currently have a cat, there’s a neighborhood tuxedo kitty who blesses our porch like clockwork and yes... I talk to him like he understands me. Back in June, we adopted a Lab/Pit mix named Suki. She’s all puppy energy and big feelings, think toddler tantrums with the attitude of a teenager. She’s definitely claimed the role of Chief Barketing Officer here at GBF HQ, keeping morale high and making sure no snack goes unnoticed.

Now let’s talk about this little business of mine.

GBF Translations was born from a simple joke during the early days of the pandemic. I used to tell my late lab, Sakura, “We’re our own little company...Best Fwends, LLC.” It started as a playful moment of connection and comfort… but that seed grew into something real. GBF Translations is a boutique business helping people say it right in Spanish & in English, and always with cultural respect. GBF Translations was built from the corazón, literally. It started as a one-woman shop (me) with a big passion for words, culture, and comunidad. Whether you're translating immigration documents, preparing materials for Spanish-speaking clients, or just trying to make your website más welcoming, we’ve got you.

This blog is my cafecito corner of the internet...my way of bringing a little bit of culture and coziness into the world...where I’ll share behind-the-scenes stories, cozy tips, cultural reflections, and a whole lot of soul. HOT TAKE

Ben and Rey are One Force Being, they are one person, two sides of a coin

this is why

1) Leia feels such a natural and deep attachment to Rey immediately, to the point of embracing her rather than Chewbacca in TFA because her Force signature already subconsciously recognizes her own child's soul

2) similarly, this is why Han Solo feels a familiarity and connection, but more importantly why Rey is so desperately willing to see Han as a father figure in the first day of meeting him, she recognizes a pre-existing paternal bond

3) this is why the attraction and belonging comes crashing down so potently for Ben and Rey, they are literally meant to be One Being, One person. these are not just soul mates, they're One Soul.

4) Rey and Ben have both been in each other's minds from the beginning, hence both of their disbelieving recognition and suspicion when meeting or hearing of the other

"she had seen him before in a daydream. in a nightmare"

"what. girl?"

5) Rey learns the ways of the Force so quickly and flies so talentedly

how is it possible without formal training? it's not, because she's been learning at the same time as Ben! she didn't just steal it from his mind or learn it from him, no she has a natural inclination for all of it because they were both learning these skills as One Being and it unlocked fully when they finally physically met

6) when Rey is in the cave and looks into the mirror she sees a shadow that looks eerily like Ben's figure and then it merges until it shows herself, it is literally telling her she is two people in One, her destiny and spiritual identity is two halves of a whole

this also foreshadows the eventual Unity of their Being in One Vessel (Rey)

they are both the Sith (Palpatine) and the Jedi (Skywalker), both unadulterated Light and Dark

the failure of the Sith and the Jedi were their staunch traditions, their rule-making, their desire for influence or the belief that one or the other "side" of the Force is better or greater than the other

but both Ben and Rey are the counterpoint to all of it, Rey faces the Dark without reservation, seeing it as just the Force "it wanted to show me something", and Ben faces the Light, capable to wield its most powerful aspect -- the ability to give Life, because of his passion and emotional attachment (something the Jedi would have rejected)

7) when Rey looks out into the desert of the place where the Skywalkers all began and sees Luke and Leia and they give their approval and recognition, she assumes the Skywalker identity

because when Ben gives his Life Force to Rey, note that his body is gone and his Force Ghost nowhere to be found, this is because he is finally One with Rey (a Marriage in the Most Spiritual Sense)

this is why she's Skywalker, she literally is Skywalker, because Ben literally lives as One in her

and because she is (they are) also Palpatine, they will live and rectify and make up for both of the Legacies. the Force was the push, the Force Bond evidence. and through both as One, they will bring a new Legacy, and a new and more absolute Balance
