My friend posted the above pic from a recent professional photo shoot.  I giggled when I remembered seeing the ‘art graduate’ meme.  Gives me a good business idea.  Yogaphoto - learn to shoot from award postural angles.  I can’t say that I am not guilty of busting out some yoga poses myself while shooting.  I have done the cobra many times.

Gopro help!  Apparently I’m not the only one with this strange Magenta and green color distortion.  Purchased back in April, only used a handful of times, firmware updated and it is not a memory card issue because this occurs without a card in slot sometimes.  GoPro loves to have you jump through all the redundant hoops, check the memory card . .  update firmware . .  yadya yada.  Maybe they just released a product too soon, and need to issue a recall?

My first attempt at tintype photography using Rockland Colloid Tintype parlor kit.  Overall it was a fun process, but it has become clear to me that a plethora of things can go awry during this process.  I believe I was putting the liquid emulsion on too thick on the plates.  I also realized later that the gelatin was cooling, causing it to become hard and thick when applied later.  It’s necessary to coat plates quickly, which can be left to dry (overnight is best) and used at a later moment.  Also the chemicals (developer & fixer) could have gone bad from my first batch to the second, which was two weeks after opening the bottle.  The ISO of these exposures are incredibly slow, I think they were rated at ISO 6!!  Forget trying to calculate the light for these things, it was a hit or miss experiment.  The two cameras I used were the Kodak Duaflex (fake twin reflex) and a Weltaflex (true TRL).  I would love to perfect this process.  It IS a process as each image itself can take 45-60 minutes from coating to exposing and developing.  You can have an assembly line going for developing once you start taking photos but you never know when or where you will be making your images.  I loved getting hands on and dirty however.  It was refreshing to take a break from the computer screen.

I thought this color test was pretty cool, necessary to score high (or low according to this I got a 4 which is pretty close to perfect) for photog’s and graphic designers me thinks.  This was sent to me by a friend after the famous blue/black white/gold dress scandal.

Part of a project I'm putting together.  This was near Potomac, MD at Violets Lock along the C& O canal.  Caught this setting sun just in time and I must have spooked the birds with my excitement since they fled as I approached.  The other is a field near Laytonsville, MD just after a storm.
