#compression garments

Do you know reliable brands that have compression socks that aren't the pharmacy's black/nude colors? I've started using then and they're working very well!! But with the price that they're I'd prefer buying patterned ones/colored ones for a little more as for them to actually work well I need to wear them daily and just having those colors is so out of my style 😭.

I don't wear them myself so I can't recommend any but I'm putting this out to the community (and I'll reblog on @disabilityaidpositivity as well to hopefully get you some answers).

i think the hip compression band ive been wearing and talking about really helps with my proprioception. no one has ever tested this before in my physiotherapy but with it on, walking in a straight line, walking in general, is a lot more normal-feeling and a lot less marionette-running-to-catch-up-with-itself. one of the interesting things about physiological and musculoskeletal dysfunction for me anyway is that even though the same thing has been going on my entire life, it never feels "normal". instead i spend all day every day feeling like something is wrong, which it is, and then notice immediately when that error has any sort of correction. which is interesting from a brain standpoint

i love my shower chair and my glasses and my compression gear and my meds and my rollator and it took a while for me to love these but they make my life so much easier and its amazing (hypersomnia, vision issues, something wrong with my joints, and something wrong with my blood pressure)

Immediate positive note was how quickly they were delivered, by the next morning. They came in a resealable plastic bag and a paper receipt of my order which had a note from the shipper that said “keep ruling!” which I thought was a sweet touch.

Now, I was apprehensive about getting these because I wear a size 4-4 1/2 in women’s/kids. Many compression socks I’ve seen don’t work well under a size 5-6.

They are marketed as autism and sensory friendly. They do not have a feel-able seem or texture from the decal on the sole of the foot or the stitching on the top. They fit snugly around my foot itself and calf, don’t fall down, and don’t pinch or irritate my skin or leg hair as normal socks do. They are incredibly soft and thick but breathable. I could wear these comfortably for hours in shoes.

The only thing I worry about is how well the stitching holds up to wear & tear and washing.

I rate these 10/10, there’s nothing I would change about them and I highly recommend these to anyone who is looking for stylish, long-wear, non-medical grade compression socks.

do nice-looking abdominal compression garments even exist??

if anyone has any recommendations for abdominal compression garments that look nice over clothes or hide well under clothes or even look kinda hot pls pls pls pls pls tell me because I want to get into abdominal compression so BAD

and thigh-high compression stockings come in black and even a nice silky material that makes them look like regular stockings

meanwhile most compression belts I see are like "just got surgery? here's this super thick beige velcro contraption!" ;-;
