just wanted to let everyone know that, effective immediately, i’ve decided to leave this group as i am dealing with a severe break up from over the weekend, having to now figure out single parenting on my own, falling on the mercy of work friends to home my son and i until i figure out what the fuck we’re gonna do, etc to name a few. idk, i’m just a wreck tbh... to everyone i got a chance to rp with, you’re amazing and i love you. to everyone i didn’t, you’re also amazing and i’m sorry we never got the chance to interact. i’ll miss everyone and this group and i hope one day i’ll be in a stable place again and i can come back to you. but for now, this is goodbye. thank you for understanding at this incredibly stressful time. xo bee.

Milla wasn’t sure what to do or where to go. She was terrified and didn’t know anybody in the cinema with her. She wanted to cry but she didn’t like crying in front of people. Especially people she didn’t know. But she was scared and didn’t know where her brothers were. So she found a dark room and curled up to cry. That is until a door slammed open a flashlight was shown. “Um, I didn’t look.” She offered quietly.

Arlen offers only an unsympathetic frown. “Headcount,” he repeats, shoving the torn box at the girl as he steps past her and further into the room to look around. “No fake names, either. Not in that kind of mood.” He doesn’t find anything particularly useful in the small dark studio dominated on one end by a projector screen so he returns to the girl to retrieve his list of names. “You should be in the main theatre with everyone else. Helping.”

CHRISTOPHE.

“Just me.” Christophe says, head shooting up. “Um yeah, there’s some food and blankets in here.” He was in another storage closet; the cinema seemed to have a lot of those for some odd reason.

He flicks his flashlight around the room before he lands on the boy again. “Well, stop hoarding it and start bringing it up to the room off the foyer.” His eyes are narrowed as if he suspects that is exactly what the lurking prince was trying to do. “Before you do,” he shoves the torn box and a pen under the princes’ nose, “name for the headcount.”

#━ CHRISTOPHE.

ALEXANDER.

He stood there in an angry soaked mess, water running down him and forming quite the impressive puddle on the floor. He wiped strands of hair that was stuck to his face away, smoothing it down on his head before exhaling and looking around the cinema. It had been the closest building when he had received the text, and he would have made it in time had he not seen people milling about that weren’t aware of the news. And now Alex was soaked to the bone. Going outside was not an option, they were going to have to wait out the storm. He caught Arlen’s eye and walked towards him, folding his arms across his chest as he watched the people around them mill about.

‘‘I did not sign up for this bullshit.’‘ Alex muttered. ‘’Let’s get organised. Anything for lighting, water, food and medical supplies. And if you find any alcohol, hide it and share it with me.’’

“Ever the ray of sunshine, Alex.” He stands by a window and watches the storm pick up steam and rage outside with a critical eye. He can’t say he’s much more thrilled than Alex about their current position, but at least their current problem has a foreseeable end. Storm break or they all take pity on one another and put each other out of their collective misery. He’s definitely going to leave ‘update weather equipment by acquiring weather equipment’ to the suggestion box once they survive the storm. “There’s an extra storage room upstairs for the films.” Mobilising, he swings toward Alex and steps away from the windows. “I’ll check up there first.”

— GROUP 2: CINEMA.

His clothes are sodden, his jacket discarded in the foyer, and his wet hair is raked back from his forehead in a vain effort to keep water from dripping into his eyes. He holds one of only a few torches aloft and shines it into each room of the cinema as he passes it, a torn popcorn box with scribbled headcount clenched between his teeth and a hard glare in his eyes that does not exactly promise a particularly cheery mood. He throws open the next door he crosses, expecting to flick the torch around the room and move on, but finds instead the room occupied. “Headcount,” he announces after he plucks the torn box from between his lips. He flicks the torch around the room. “Anything useful in here?”

DONOVAN.

Donovan rarely if ever was in the Pirate’s Lounge, but today he figured why not, and he needed a drink, so he brought a bottle of alcohol with him and one of his favorite books. It might seem like an odd combination, but Donovan never did anything ordinary. Taking a sip of his drink he looked over at Arlen, “You say something?”

“I said is this seat free.” Given that he’s already taken it and dropped his inventory list onto the bar top, making himself comfortable, he clearly doesn’t particularly care if it is. He carries a beer in hand and looks tired after three nights in a row of pulling the graveyard shift of watch. “Magazine needs to be emptied tomorrow to do a damp check. You know what the petty crew’s roster is like?”

LOLA.

Lola began scribbling things down. The number of bullets, where they had come from, where they were going to. This was something she found enjoyable, something that gave her some solace. Picking up the rounds, she noticed they still felt warm to the touch as she began organizing them inside the box. “Whether you like it or not, you’re clearly skillful at it,” she spoke absently. “Okay. Well, let me know if I’m doing anything wrong,” she allowed the sentence to trail off. “Or if you’d prefer to have it done some other way,” she added, shrugging her shoulders a little bit.

“Wouldn’t say I wasn’t.” As cocky as that sounded, it was the truth. He’d taken more than a few lives at the end of a barrel of a gun, but he deliberately avoided thinking about the consequence of his... skill beyond that. Much and far as he tried to run from it, he was bred to be a soldier and there was no real escape from that. “You’re doing fine.” Though, he does lean across the table to check her work first, both on paper and in her arranging of the ammunition.

ADAM.

“Why am I always being compared to a dog? Why can’t I be – like a damn giraffe or something?” he chuckled lightly. “Not here no – but I have a – well light speech issue, whenever I get nervous.”

“A giraffe?” Perplexed, he frowns at the nervous and bumbling prince. (Jesus, this guy was meant to be a leader?) “You can relax,” he rolls his eyes, “I’m not going to push you in. Only royals who do something to deserve it get thrown off cliffs and fed to sharks.”

CELESTINE.

“If you are here to tell me I’m doing something else wrong, then please spare me the lecture.” Stated simply with a small shake of her raven hair as she continued in her search of the rock pools around the edge of the coves. It was something to occupy her time, there was only so much she could take of being surrounded by worrying royals trapped in the tulach house. Glancing over her shoulder again to see him still stood there, Celia straightened her arms folding a little defensively over her chest as she spoke a little exasperated: “I’m not causing any fire hazards this time, so you are welcome to take your pirate safety to another royal.” @gagcrps

“Something else wrong?” Arlen eyebrows raise, but before he can jump to conclusions the question is settled for him and recognition ignites with a sudden spark. The brunette glares at him defensively, arms folded as she stands ankle deep in a rock pool, and he remembers suddenly why she looks so familiar. She’s the one who skipped How to Build a Campfire 101 in Girl Scouts. “No survival tips today,” he quips coolly from his rock pile. “Just glad you’re not still failing to signal ships by burning us all to the ground. It’s hot enough.”

SOPHIE.

“Just you what?” Sophie found herself questioning. If she were honest, she was extremely picky with whomever she chose to sleep with, though it wasn’t what was in question there. “I think so,” she addressed, a presumptuous expression crossing her somewhat feline features. “Is it?” she retorted. Splaying her hands on top of the table’s surface, Sophie clicked her tongue against the roof of her mouth, throwing her dark hair to a side. “Judging by your previous throws, you favor your right hand. How about we start throwing with the hand we might be least skillful with?”

Arlen waves a hand as if to silence Sophie, though he doesn’t get much further than leaning over the table to exaggerate his next aim before she’s challenging him again. “Would you prefer that I went to no effort and won embarrassingly easily?” he asks with a teasing twist of his mouth, though he obediently tosses the ball into his ‘less skilled’ hand when challenged to do so. “You’re devious.” The ball lands with a plop in a cup, though he may have hesitated again to land the shot with a hand he’s not as practiced in using.

CARLOS.

“But I didn’t get in, I came here because I knew I could, but I know I can’t get in, if I let curiosity make the decision to me, I would have got in,” he pointed out, he wouldn’t get in anywhere that he couldn’t just because he was curious, especially because he could end up getting hurt when he did it. He would just do that if he had to help someone, otherwise he didn’t think was worth getting hurt. “N-No comments…” he blushed heavily, he was into it, he didn’t do it enough to hurt the girl, but he did handcuffed his ex in the bed, and whipped her with a little whip, but nothing to actually hurt her, just to give her pleasure, despite being shy, he was kinky as heck.

His forehead crumbles and his head cocks ever so slightly. His eyes hit the building that they stand in the shadow of and roll once more back to the blushing prince. “Definitely not something I particularly wanted to know,” he decides, though whether he speaks to himself or the kid is indeterminable. He’d been joking, but apparently he’d found himself right on the money. Not something he would have suspected, and definitely not something he really wanted to know. Then again, he probably should have expected as much of a shady someone loitering in the shadows of this particular area. “You got me,” he admits with a mock shudder as he turns on his heel to walk away.

MADDALENA.

Maddalena had consciously averted her gaze when the man had so casually removed his shirt in the middle of the dining hall. At least she knew he wasn’t shy about walking around half naked, a sight that the princess had refused to indulge herself in until curiosity got the better of her, as it so often did. When the sky blue t-shirt was shoved into her hands Maddalena finally allowed her green irises to steal a glance at the man’s well-toned torso before meeting the pirate with a narrowed gaze and furrowed brow in confusion. “If you are wanting that I suggest finding the person who washes your clothes already. You stick with what you know,” the Italian princess stated, pushing the blue cotton shirt covered in cake back towards the other, against his abdomen. “Are you going to be held personally responsible for the cake I no longer get to have? It was very important to me. ”

Gracious enough to merely bank her blush for later, Arlen has to fight the urge to roll his eyes when the brunette shoves his shirt back at him. “Actually...” He pauses and one look at her confused frown convinces him that he’s just flogging the dead horse. He sighs loudly, accepting his shirt again even as he pivots to bail on this one. “Whatever, I don’t have the luxury of time or patience to explain simple English to you.” Judging by her accent, she was European. No wonder she was too stupid to understand simple instructions. “I wasn’t the one who went smearing my cake all over a stranger, princess,” he throws over his shoulder. “If you want someone to blame for the state of your treat, I’d suggest finding a mirror.”

ARIANNA.

he was vile, frustrating and vile that much had been made clear during the few minutes she’d spent in his presence. “ phrase an insult by whose standards exactly? yours? “ she questioned with a quirk of her brow. “ the bar can’t possibly be set too high then — i’m sure that constructing a proper sentence is considered a feat of unprecedented intelligence for you. “ she added with a roll of her shoulders, not that he was a terrible opponent in truth aria had to admit that as far as any argument she’d had here? he was in fact the most interesting of his peers. at the very least this back and forth didn’t involve the same old tired stereotypes, could it be that she’d run into a pirat that could actually think for himself? no of course not, that notion was just too good to be true. “ it’s repulsive “ she snapped a disgruntled look on her features as she shook her head. “ if being — if, nudity is something you’re kind is comfortable with, that’s fine but forcing it upon others who are NOT... that’s unwarranted. “ and she wouldn’t be falling for it, not in this life time.

“And yet I wasn’t the one struggling to find a decent insult. If I were you, honey, I’d probably set your bar by your own limitations, so relatively low, or you might come to find that you exceed your means and only succeed in making yourself look even more like an angry little girl.” He’s conversational at most, a touch playful, and dunked liberally in mockery, but he still offers that same self-satisfied smile because her insults do little more than entertain. Unusual for him, considering he’s normally one to establish his overpowering dominance pretty quickly and stamp out her kind of back talk, but he’s apparently discovered some patience. “Honestly, I’m convinced that you wouldn’t care in the slightest about fake rules if the suggestion was coming from someone you really wouldn’t mind the excuse to get naked with.”

#━ ARIANNA.

CHARLIE.

If Charlie had been his sister, the cup would have been emptied down the pirates front with a “oh oops, sorry, totally my bad”, but he wasn’t. And even though he very badly wanted to do it, he didn’t. “I would love an apology. Then another one for your rudeness perhaps.” Charlie uttered, his lip curled as he tried his best not to but failed at not challenging the other pirate.

If he wasn’t half convinced the prince would change his mind and decide to make a seen after all given the chance, he’d have clapped a hand over his eyes with a loud sigh and squeezed the bridge of his nose hard. Instead, they stand in a tense stalemate until the prince speaks. “All bark. Go figure.” He falls back, already turning his attention back to the coffee pot and seemingly satisfied that he’s come out on top of the square up. He chalks the prince up to reasonable intelligence, but he doesn’t hold much faith in such. “Don’t hold your breath.”

EMILIA.

“Oh well. I figured it was worth a try.” Mia replied with a wink. Playing with him took her back to her time at university and for a moment, it was almost like she wasn’t being held prisoner on an island. Even if she were to lose the game, she figured that she wouldn’t mind all too much. “Good. Let’s pick a day and time after I beat you in this game.” Emilia shook her head with a laugh before letting out a low whistle. “I’m insulted by the lack of faith. Why would I have started playing if I was complete shit at the game?” she asked with a chuckle. “I played beer pong quite often in university. I preferred flip cup but beer pong is good enough.” she added with a grin.

“Quintessential sorority girl, huh?” With a humoured quirk of his lips, he takes aim again and serves the ping pong ball into another of her cups. “I’m starting to get the impression that you’d make a terrible queen.” Quirked lips continue to grow and he gestures for Emilia to down her beer and serve. “Perfect mistress, though. Especially for a girl who bets on lingerie.”

JACK.

Jack chuckled, his smirk only growing when the other threatened to throw up on him. The further remarks only making him chuckle to himself. “You know, you play hard to get but one day I’ll get ya. Maybe I you won’t top, but don’t worry I’m a great bottom handsome.” He teased as he started to get to work on their menial tasks for the day. “If we get a break I can show you a little of my expertise.”

“I’ll be sure to sleep with one eye open and my back to the wall.” Arlen rolls his eyes as he follows Jack’s lead and picks up a board to start his own laundry list of menial tasks. “You know, more working and less flirting means the work gets done faster and I get to leave sooner.”

VIOLET.

Violet knew in her gut the answers to her questions, but she didn’t want to believe it. She stared at him, blue eyes wide, trying to search for any gleam of the person she’d grown up alongside. “What happened?” Her voice was quiet, almost hurt. Seeing Arlen here, as a pirate felt like a punch in the gut. It wasn’t as if they’d been particularly close, but it hurt to see that someone she’d known for as long as she could remember could harbor the kind of animosity towards her family to lead him to this.

He freezes, forehead crumbling briefly beneath confusion. “What do you mean?” He doesn’t follow Violet’s line of thought, because becoming a pirate wasn’t about revenge for him. It’s always been about escape. It’s always been about taking the cowardly way out. He’d followed Belle to the Trident because he’d been looking for a way out, and he’d become a pirate because it had put an entirely different life between him and his past. He hadn’t thought about the people affected by his disappearance, about the wake he’d leave... Well, no. He’d just put as much room between him and guilt as he could physically manage. But he really hadn’t thought about the twelve-year-old girl who he’d taught to play Rummy while their father’s played military. He hadn’t thought about the shock and the confusion and the hurt in her eyes ten years later.
