Anytime anyone thinks I, or my friends, are going overboard on angsty backstories for Jedi or ex-Jedi OC's I'm always like "Revan."

"They messed with Bashir's mind and used gene therapy to conceal his true origins from him? That's a little mu--"

REVAN.

"They exiled a teenager for graffiti'ing the temple? Isn't that a little harsh-"

REVAN.

Revan basically proves the Order considers anything short of death to be a 'nonviolent solution'. They don't consider mental violation to be a violation. They don't consider the erasure of self to be 'death' or 'assault'.

And after they did it, they didn't even send him* somewhere like Agricorps to let him spend his life digging in the dirt. They put him back into the military because he is a weapon and they can't let one of their best weapons get too far from a hand that could wield him.

*No disrespect to anyone's personal Revan, using the 'canon' default for simplicity, not because I actually like the canon default.
