does anyone know a good way to lift a curse? my house is falling apart right now and i’m very convinced it’s cursed. i want to try and at least protect my family since we’ve been through enough already but i have little experience with this stuff.
update: i’m paranoid so i tried the card trick from this website and got 2/3 aces. something is definitely going on.

i made my first real spell jar!
my mother received a beautiful kalanchoe plant as a gift and since she isn’t the best at keeping plants alive, she gave it to me to take care of! i trimmed back a few flowers today and i hated the idea of throwing them away, so i decided to make a spell jar to help protect and guide me.
supplies:
white candle
small glass jar (i got mine for a dollar from target with some glitter for a project and ended up buying four more because they’re so pretty)
flower or plant that you want to cherish (i used my kalanchoe (symbolizing life) along with a few dried pansies (love, divination) that i grew a while ago)
basil (for protection)
cinnamon (for happiness)
chamomile (for peace)
allspice (for healing)
himalayan salt (for cleansing)
bay leaves (for strength)
lavender oil (comfort)
ylang ylang oil (confidence)
witch hazel (healing)
water (purity)
rose quartz (optional; only use outside of the actual jar though!)
spell:
first, light the candle and hold the jar over it while saying,
“let this glass protect me and guide me. let my thoughts be as clear and my mind be as strong.”
next, pour small amounts of all the spices and herbs in one by one, stating their intentions while doing so. after they are done, pour a larger amount of salt on top of the spices to shield them. add a few drops of lavender oil and hold the jar over the candle again.
“may each of these spices protect me and heal me. let them help me to become a better version of myself.”
next, place the bay leaves in the jar with the flowers on top of them. add a few drops of ylang ylang oil. then fill the jar about ¼ with witch hazel. lastly, fill the jar the rest of the way with water. one last time, hold the jar above the flame.
“let my life be as beautiful as flowers and as strong as bay leaves. let this jar of hope guide and shield me.”
once the jar is done, close the jar and pour the wax from the candle on top of the cork to seal it. if wanted, use a lighter to melt away the extra wax. blow out the candle and you’re done!

A Spell to Destroy Negative Thought Patterns
Sometimes that voice in the back of your head isn’t a good thing. Negative thinking can defeat us before we even go into battle, and there is no time like the present to destroy the cycle of negative thoughts!

A journal
A black candle
A mirror
Spell:
For this spell, you will need to keep a journal with you and log each time you catch yourself spiraling into negative thought.
At the end of the day, light a black candle and place it between you and a mirror, then read each negative thought aloud.
After reading each negative thought you must respond with the reason that thought is untrue or unrealistic and then banish it by saying:
I send this thought into the flame.
No more of my life force it can claim!
Repeat this once daily for a week and then again as necessary. Let the candle burn down completely and safely each time

“I Can Do This” Spell
Everyone can use some extra courage!
Materials:
1 small brown glass bottle that will hold ¼ cup
4 teaspoons of almond oil
1 red square cotton cloth
5 fresh basil leaves
1 pinch of thyme
✔Pour the almond oil into the brown bottle and, as you do this, visualize having the inner strength to face anything that comes your way.
✔Add the basil leaves and the dried time.
✔Wrap the red cloth around the bottle, then leave it out in the sun for 5 hours.
✔Bring it inside the house and leave it in a warm place that gets plenty of sunshine for 3 days.
✔Every time courage is needed, just anoint yourself at the back of the neck. The older the mixture gets, the stronger the courage you will have.

Normally, the thing to do is use a banishment spell, cleanse, bang pots and pans together and yell, or to simply say, “Look, i know that youre moving my stuff. I recognize that its you, you can stop now.” (for a poltergeist that wans your attention) or “I have a vessel for my mind, i am alive, i am stronger than you. Leave now.” (for a malicious spirit that is, for ex., banging on the walls or trying to scare you via divination).
As some of you may know, when working with spirits you may come across one with malicious intent. Or, a poltergeist that just wont leave you and your belongings alone.
Why not use these for intrusive and negative thoughts?
When you tell yourself,
“I’m not good enough.”
“I dont deserve to live.”
“I dont add anything.”
“I’m worthless.”
“No one cares about me.”
“I’m a joke.”
“What’s the point in trying? I’ll just fail anyways.”
Treat your thoughts as things you may be able to banish.
Bang those pots together and yell out positive things about yourself.
Cleanse yourself by taking a shower, bath, a walk in the sun, etc.
Draw banishment sigils for negative thoughts on yourself.
and most importantly, tell yourself, “I have a body and a mind. I am stronger than my negative thoughts. I hear and recognize you but i wont let you discourage me, because i AM worth it. I’ll appreciate your criticism when its more constructive and less DEstructive. Now leave.”
I know it can be hard to tell yourself that, but i hope these things can help!!!!

what you need:
• a black or red candle
• obsidian crystal (preferrably two)
light the candle while picturing the person who has done you wrong. hold obsidian in each hand and list all the things they have done to you. then recite:
you have hurt me, and i want you to hurt.

i want you to understand the pain you put me through.
all the misery i dealt with, i cast it all upon you.
once all of your anger, pain, and emotion is released, put out the candle.

@trickstarbrave I understand how you’re feeling and I’m not trying to say don’t do it, I’m just saying that in energy work it’s important to understand the effects it has on both the caster and the recipient. I know dark witches and light witches (my sire was a dark witch), I’m just saying it has a cost and be prepared to say it. There’s a place for both light and dark, but to ignore the toll it may take is irresponsible. I’m sorry if I offended you, and curses have their place, but I believe only in times of extreme need. The one I made that came true I don’t regret, but it hurt a lot more people than just the person I cursed, and I’m still dealing with the ramifications of it. (It was my birth mother, and I lost family because of it.)
Everything can have ramifications beyond what we can clearly see. Acting like you’re “submitting to darkness that will come back around and ~get you~” if you curse someone is not conductive to that discussion.
Not everyone views magic like you do. We don’t all have the same feelings about cursing. I’ve cursed and not been “corrupted” or been “hurt because of the consequences”. Don’t come onto posts esp from my blog about how “they’re necessary but terrible and corrupting and awful and you’ll need to face the consequences”. We face the ‘consequences’ of everything on an equal level to magic. And there is no “evil corrupting darkness” in what I view is just punishment that refuses to be given so I can emotionally and mentally let go (what this spell is about)

i personally used this spell as a process of getting a toxic person out of my life and it healed me a lot. i am a firm believer in karma and after everything she put me through, she shouldn’t have been happy. i was just paying her back for what she did to me. it’s also small and fairly harmless; it’s not like i’m giving her a death wish or anything. i know witchcraft has its consequences, but some spells are important, and i know i’m not the only one that needed something like this.
Sigil Basics… again!
So I left a lot of information out of my last post and I wanted to do an update that may be more helpful!
***Remember***
Everything can be changed or altered based on your personal needs or preferences! The things I used were a basic guide that gives only one example! Your sigil is yours and you can arrange it anyway you want!
Make a Chart
Begin by making a chart similar to this one above. You can arrange the letters in any way and even take away numbers if wanted or needed.
Get a Phrase
The phrase I am using is
“I am safe and protected”
Your phrase can be as long or short as you like. Just know that if you are following this method and have a long phrase then you will have a more complex sigil and a short phrase you will just have a simple sigil.
Take Out the Vowels
This is another one of those REALLY optional steps. If you take out the vowels then you have a less complicated sigil and if not then it’s just a little more complex. I do this because it makes things not as busy in the sigil itself.
Using the same example from before we are then left with…
“M sf nd prtctd”
Take Out Repeating Letters
This is another one of those optional steps, but again it just cuts down on the business or complexity of your sigil.
The phrase we’ve been using would then become…
“msfndprtc”
Numbering Your Letters
So here you’re just going to match up the letters to the number they are assigned to in that chart we made earlier.
In our example…
416547923
Numbering Your Circle
Now you’re going to make a circle with numbers in it. The number order does not matter. You can do this in any order that you like. This is the one we are going to be using for our example.
Drawing Your Sigil
After you have all your information you get to draw out your sigil! Now this is where everything comes together.
Our number sequence is 416547923 so we are going to draw a line from 4 to 1 on our circle. Then drawing another line from 1 to 6. Then from 6 to 5. Then from 5 to 4. And continuing this until we have connected all the numbers together.
Finishing Touches
Now that you have your finished product you can begin to add your embellishments! You can add or take away anything that you like and make your sigil all yours!
You can add loops and swirls and anything else that you would like to the finished product!
Bonus Lessson
Charging Your Sigil
This is something that I’ll be elaborating on more in a later post that will be dedicated to this whole topic but I’m gonna share a favorite method of mine for charging up my sigils!
I prefer to do this when meditating but I have a few sigils that are all drawn out on the paper that I will be using that day or placing for the future or whatever their purpose is.
I will take the paper and hold it in my hands and focus on the intent that I wish the sigil to possess. If we were using the phrase above then we would be envisioning ourselves in a safe and protected place. We would be focusing on being safe and protected from whatever it is we need protection from.
After doing this for a bit I will know when it is ready and then I will kiss the paper and then I move along to the next one repeating the process.

Witch Recipe: Cleansing Salts
- A recipe from my grimoire
Cleansing salts are really cool, and making them basically gives an extra magickal boost to your salt. It’s even simple to make!
Some uses for these salts are to charge and cleanse crystals, wards/shields, banishing negative energies/entities (it can trap them too if that’s your style), used in spell bottles, charging sigils, or generally empowering any magickal workings that call for salt. !!DO NOT USE IN FOODS OR BATHS!!
Supplies
Mortar and Pestle/Food processor
Teaspoon
Sea salt
Dried rose petals
Rosemary or Sage
And Frankincense essential oil (incense ash works too)
The spell
-as a note, please feel free to change or come up with your own spell or phrase, it doesn’t even need to rhyme! This is simply what I chose and what has worked best for me.
“Salt of Earth, and Rose of Fire
safety and peace, I most admire
Herb of Air, Resin of Water
keep out evil, it shall not bother
This is my will, it will harm none
I’ve said it, and now it’s done.
So mote it be”
Recipe
- this will make a ¼ cup, adjust as needed. It’s a small amount because you don’t need much to get any of the benefits.
Add 1 tsp of dried rose petals to mortar
Add 1 tsp of dried sage or rosemary to mortar
Use pestle to grind herbs until you you have they’re nicely mixed and crushed into a loose powder. It should look like this.
Move ingredients to bowl, and add ¼ cup sea salt.
Add 3 drops of Frankincense essential oil, or the ash from incense stick.
Mix well and say the spell.
And that’s about it! You should have something that looks any of this!
