Before you can be a good Master, Dom, or Daddy, you must first know how to be a good Gentleman.
Mannerisms of a Gentleman:
1. Dress to Impress: Ladies want to be swooned by that debonair, that man who walks into a room and command everyoneās attention to be drawn to him. They want a man who dresses confidently, suave, and with class. No lady wants to be escorted in by a slob, pursued by an insecure boy, nor be embarrassed by showing up with a poorly dressed man.
2. Open the Door: A Lady should never have to open her own door whenever a gentleman is present⦠Not a car door, exterior door, nor an interior door (except the bathroom door mind you). A proper lady will wait for the doors to be opened for her unless no gentleman is nearby.
3. Direct her: Guide her to her seat, choose which chair she should sit in, pull the chair out for her, and push it gently under her as she sits down. When time for her to stand up, go pull the chair out slowly for her to get up. If another lady arrives to your gathering to sit at the table who is not your escort, stand politely to great her, but do not escort her to her chair unless she is unescorted by another gentleman. Show preferential treatment to your lady that came with you over any other woman present.
4. Stand Up Straight: Stand tall, square your shoulders, back straight, chin up, looking up with your eyes forward. Nothing speaks Confidence louder than this. A man who looks down denotes timidness or shyness. A man who slouches displays a lack of confidence. This may sound crude, but I find it effective in demonstrating this principle: Pretend your chest is the front end of your car, and your nipples on your chest are your headlights. Use your headlights like you would on a car to point to where you are headed. Use your eyes like spotlights to focus where your attention should be. Do not let your eyes wander around (especially not at some other female walking by). Keep your eyes focused⦠they are the window to your soul, the piercing laser beams to melt any womanās heart. Do not back down and turn your eyes away first, because that shows weakness. Maintain eye to eye contact when speaking to her; But do not wander your eyes up and down her body in lust, nor continuously stare, for you will cause her to feel very uncomfortable. You will have to practice in order to achieve the right balance in this area.
5. Walk Arm in Arm with Your Lady: Offer your arm for her to hold. Do not hold hands when escorting her when in public, going to an event, to your table, or a party. Arm in arm shows more class than hand in hand (save the hand holding for when you are alone). When walking down the street, make sure you are on the street side and she is on the other side of you away from the street. This takes practice to get used to, but definitely demonstrates chivalry and class.
6. Present Flowers to Her: The type and amount you present can change by the type of event (for example a Dozen or more Roses for Romantic Occasion, a Floral Basket for a Welcoming Gift, or a bouquet of Wild Flowers for Dinner Engagement), but bring flowers. No matter what the special occasion, there are appropriate flowers and floral arrangements to be given. If you need help in this area, there are many websites available to guide you on how to select the appropriate type of flowers and arrangements for each occasion, or you can simply ask your favorite florist for advice.
7. Kiss her Hand: To greet her, grab her hand gently, holding only the fingers and kids her hands lightly. Use only your lips slightly parted. No slobbery kisses here⦠just a light gentle kiss, hold your kiss a moment longer, then slowly lower her hand. This is not a quick peck on the hand like you would on your Mother in Laws cheek. This is a Romantic Kiss of her hand (if you do not understand this difference, you need to watch a few Romance Films).
8. A Firm Handshake: When shaking hands with other men, make sure you give a firm manly handshake. Do not hold a limp wrist, or give a light squeeze. Nothing speaks weakness louder than this. A firm handshake demonstrates confidence and dominance. A word of caution, however⦠this is not to be a wrestling match, a death grip, nor a comparison of each otherās strength. This is a Gentlemanās Handshake.
9. Gentlemanly Conversation: Engage in conversation as required in an elegant manner. Do not try to be the show of the party, the center of attention, etc. Keep it pleasant, clean, and appropriate. Do not interject yourself into conversations uninvited. However, it is appropriate to initiate a conversation or two with other men. Keep the topic light, appealing, and intriguing⦠Do not make small talk about the weather or what a nice event it is⦠that is not becoming of a gentleman. Avoid Sports, Politics, Religion, and the sort. Such topics of controversy should be advised at all cost.
10. Be in Charge: Assume your role. Make her feel like a Princess. Remember, she is your intended focus, the light of your eye, the center of your attention. You command the evening, you order her food for her (you may even choose once you are confident in your role to order for her without her input or even letting her see the menu). Pour her drinks, Serve her plate when appropriate, and cater to her every need. Impress her with unexpected preplanned surprises (have the band play her favorite song, the waiter to bring her a special dessert or her favorite drink, or present her with a keepsake as a reminder for her of that night). Make each event special. Build memories to last a lifetime.
Finally, I would say in parting, to continuously practice and improve. Improvise and develop your own style that is true and unique to you. No two gentlemen are alike, except in this fact⦠They act like Gentlemen.
