Shouto had been, partially, aware of the fact that his face had more often than not scrunched up into something, less pleasing to the eyes as usual. A more sinister look, one that held secrets and terrible memories behind it, one that made him seem as if he blamed the world for everything. As if his mind had been so beaten down and broken that not even the muscles in his face could hold some semblance of hope together ( and though that sometimes felt like the case, you weren’t one to let it show. you’d always been sealed behind tight bars. though.. what if someone finally reached right through them? ).

But was that—Was the simplest of acts, a shift in expression really cause for such a disturbance? It seemed to be, as his partner seemed to have in mind.

He tensed, body sensing hands within its proximity before they had even landed on him. Though when they had, it was much too late for him to react in a way that would benefit him in the slightest. He gasped, a somewhat strangled noise escaping his throat afterwards ( “Gyah—!” ) as his body trembled with the sudden sensation, overwhelmed and unused to it. A hand flew up to shield his mouth, keep whatever wished to pour out sealed away like the tight cap of a water bottle, as his other hand moved down to take hold of the wrist attached to the hand attached to his side, clinging onto it and trying to pull it off, though failing, as if all his strength had disappeared within that moment.

Then came the snickers, quiet and somewhat panicky as he tried to get away before the facade had broken and laughter poured from his lips ( the rarest of treasures to find, though you’d consider it much less valuable than that ).
