Fic: Of Each, and All, and Everything
…so there’s procrastination, and there’s taking six literal years to finish a 10,000 word fic.
Okay but look. Look. Ficwriters have fannish responsibilities, you guys. Even if life and grad school and full-time employment and adulting went and ate me alive (I have a mortgage, what the fuck is wrong with the world), I spent many a happy year in Gallifrey fandom and still love y’all like burning. And all of that being so, there were situations I couldn’t in all conscience let stand forever. Like the fact that, so far as I can find, nobody on AO3 has–had, before today–ever written a piece of pornography for the Gallifrey OT4. This fandom has an OT4 so obvious I don’t even have to tell you who I mean, and somehow still we fell down on the smut front, and that had to change.
Other injustices: Alice once upon a time drew SOME REALLY CAPSLOCKILY FANTABULOUS FANART after I’d merely drabbled this pairing, and I kept talking about how I was gonna write the full scene, and then I never did. Which–again. Was a debt to be paid. And a ficwriter’s gotta have a code, or something. That kinda thing can only be allowed to eat at a girl’s soul for so long. Meaning since 2011, apparently.
…why the hell am I still babbling on at you, go off and read porn, y’all.

Unfortunately, Romana happens to know very well that none of those are true. It’s a perfectly good idea. It’s a perfectly brilliant idea. It’s an idea that should have occurred to her years ago. It is also the sort of idea, alas, which is likely to haunt her for decades if she allows it to fester.

so you know how i was listening to punk goes pop? well “Somebody That I Used to Know” covered by Mayday Parade came on and i had to write this. this might make it into the gallifrey college au fic i’m planning, but i might just leave it as a standalone separate college au.
anyway, for some context: braxiatel got sick of narvin’s consistent snarking and snide comments in response to him actually trying to form a relationship with him, so he broke things off. i’ll also mention that braxiatel “suffers” from mild hypersexuality and acted on his urges frequently with consenting coeds before the events of this fic - suffers in scare quotes because he enjoys having many knotches in his bedpost.
narvin realizes how hurt he is by brax breaking it off, and pleads for him to come back. the ending is cute imo, in contrast to the Hellfic (”you are my sunshine”)
onto the fic after the cut! 925 words. sfw, but there is a fair bit of swearing.

Narvin hadn’t considered it sabotage—sabotage typically meant one party gaining an advantage, getting the upper hand, being in competition. No, no, Narvin hadn’t considered shutting the project down sabotage—he’d considered it good judgement. Glower hadn’t shared that opinion.
