And since Fury is pushing that we get a positive voice out there talking about the benefits of the Avengers, I decided I might as well hit two birds with one stone. So ask the "Incredible Hulk" what ever you'd like.
You should also look up the Hulk Story "Hear of the Monster". You are right about Comic Banner having given up. By this point, he has accepted that he's stuck with the Hulk forever. When he's Hulkless in the Banner and Son story, he knows it isn't going to last.

If you liked Planet Hulk, you should check out World War Hulk, which is the Story of him returning to earth and the Banner and Son arc, which is a Hulkless Banner trying to raise his and Caiera's son(Who he finds out had survived). It also deal of how he wants to be a better parent than his father(Who was abusive). You should look up old Hulk stories about him and his father for that matter.
Just read your awesome Planet Hulk review. Makes me want to go back into comics again (tried that around X-Men 2's release; ye gods, what a mess). I'm just wondering, though: have you seen the Hulk in 2003? I know it got burned with the critics, but having just watched it for the first time very, very recently, I'd absolutely love to know your thoughts on it! It's not part of the MCU canon, exactly, but close enough!

Warning: spoilers + review + character analysis comparing what I read in the comic to movie-verse Hulk.
While this comic was BRILLIANT, some of the faces were...some of the drawn faces were fucking DERPY AS SHIT oh my god it was so funny
Most of it was drawn very well(example: https://annihilusssl.sslcs.cdngc.net/i/0920/1335/4c5b09e5a0bb9.jpg?h=de589c4891e7b5573c02c384e33a7485 )but jeez some of it was outrageously funny.
[I'd insert a picture here but no one seems to truly appreciate the outrageously wonky faces. Seriously, if you owned a copy of the full book with all the comics in it, find a REALLY good one and send it to me so I can share it with the world]
Anyway, besides the hilarious faces, this book had no OBVIOUS flaws. If I wanted to, I could bring up the cliches they fell back on at times, but I, personally, think the usage of cliches at times really brought this story together.
Yes, this is going to be a very positive review. It takes a lot to make me hate something.
This book starts off with the Hulk on a space craft. The monologue is PERFECT in this part. Read like true prose. Through the monologue we learn that Hulk had went into space to destroy a satellite that had become AI and went rouge, endangering the world somehow. However, once he was destined to come BACK, Reed Richards, Dr. Strange, and Tony Stark come on a little window. Reed begins explaining that they're literally gonna fucking dump him on a planet that has no intelligent beings so he can't hurt himself or others. Maybe it's because I REALLY like Bruce and I really feel sorry for him, but this left me in...a bit of an uproar. How dare they, after all the Hulk has done for them(more of which you learn later on)?
Anyway, page turn, Hulk crash lands on a DIFFERENT planet. It isn't obvious at first, but he went through a black hole that wasn't SUPPOSED to be there, and it sent him elsewhere. Once there, as Hulk has already gone full throttle, he knocks a few of the planet's government's soldiers, and scares the fuck out of some poor natives.
From there, they somehow manage to actually SHOOT HIM AND INJURE HIM. Then they sell him into slavery, which is how he gets sent out as a gladiator.
As a gladiator, he makes seven friends who he ends up sticking with through out the book. After he completes 3 trials and successfully un-slaves a shit ton of people, pissing off the dictator the Red King, he goes running with his friends. Thy pick up a lot of people along the way.
This part has a lot of spoilers, so I'll just say this: he ends up becoming the emperor, and has a happy ending for...maybe three days before the space ship he landed with fucking self destructs and kills like the entire planet save him and a handful of people who made it onto an air craft on time.
Also, the explosion kills his wife and unborn son.
So there's that extra heart ache. And I actually LIKE his romantic interest in this too!
Now, I know. Not the best review, but I tried! Basically, this is the best comic ever holy shit but also remember I'm a newbie to Marvel and this is like my third comic series I actually read.

Movie-verse: How I Read Bruce
Bruce seemed to be a bit more then disturbed. Not just because of the Hulk and that full force pressure, but because of his past, which I read up on. And the fact that nobody really treats him like a human fucking being. That screws with you, being treated like an animal. And I know plenty of us, including myself, HAVE had that happen before to them. Treated like the elephant in the room that everyone just wants...dead.
But enough about that, because Bruce has that going for him in BOTH verses.
What's different movie-verse is he's a bit more...not cynical. From what I've seen of comic Bruce, he's give up entirely. And Bruce in movie-verse has to, but he doesn't act nearly as cynical about it. He'd rather suffer silently, bottle things in, from rage to sadness.
Comic-Verse:
Like I said, much more bitter. Bitter and to-the-point. He's like...like a really really smart veteran that never quite got through therapy, but does a damn good job of hiding the tears.
That's probably offensives, ahahahaha...
Anyway, the two are interesting, and one in the same. The difference is, though, that Hulk in-comic has...an actual personality. He has feelings just as Bruce does, only he lets them control him in a way that Bruce could never do. They are polar opposites. Bruce bottles his emotions and puts on a bitter, sarcastic fiasco, whereas the Hulk just lets it all twirl around and engulf him in a wave of shame and hatred.
The biggest thing they all have in common, though, from movie-verse Bruce to comic-verse Bruce to comic-verse Hulk, is that they all fucking hate themselves with a burning passion. And it's...it's actually quite depressing once you get to it.
And the best part? This is all while not really factoring in Bruce's past. What his father put him through, what kids at school put him through, what his own mind put him through.
I don't know about you, but I wouldn't be able to fucking handle it. And the best part is, Bruce CAN'T handle it. That's why he has the Hulk. That's why he continues to Hulk out.
And that makes him an...incredibly believable character.
If the REST of the superhero's are as fascinating as Bruce is, then by god, I think I'm looking at becoming a hard core Marvel fan really, really soon.

Is it like OSHIII-- WIKIPEDIA SAVE ME orrrr a quick line of "and then Bruce listed at least ten scientific things that were awesome"? I'm always curious how other Bruce's handle this!))

It depends. If I am really really not in the mood to look anything up or what not, I'll just skip over it somehow. Usually, though, I like to stick to subjects I know I can write for. When I play Bruce, I usually have him be going through some sort of Psychology phase or what not because I CAN write for that. If it's something important and I want to sound like I know what I'm doing, though, I'll do research.Also, just so you guys know, I'm not intentionally taking a hitaus. My laptop's battery broke, and I don't want to answer the questions I have without art.))
