Yarn of the Frisky Filly #5
Yarns of the Frisky Filly #5 is out TODAY (10/17) on Comixology! This is the final issue (for now) and I have a boatload of plans for future tales. I just wanted to thank everyone who has supported the book. http://bit.ly/2OQAb74
Yarns of the Frisky Filly #4
AHOY! Hoping you're not sick of the shameless self-promotion yet. My comic Yarns of the Frisky Filly #4 is NOW available on ComiXology! Be sure to check it out! http://bit.ly/2wPMwxn
This image doesn't appear in Yarns of the Frisky Filly #3 (out Wednesday 8/15 through @comiXology ), and is just inspired by a certain favorite band of mine.
Some past blasts from my Personality Comics days. The Beatles and Don Mattingly, penciled by me.
Jack Kirby. Collage for Jimmy Olsen, Hunger Dogs, The Mighty Thor, The Fantastic Four, Spirit World. 1964-1972.
I’ve always wondered if anyone else feels this way about Kirby’s collages – they are awe-inspiring, vertiginous and epic, but I’ve also found them sort of melancholy. Everything hangs in impossible gravity, preserved in amber, unknowable and unreachable and indescribable. The characters in the foreground are defined in powerful, deep black shadows and broad, expressive lines, but here they are facing the indistinct and the undefined, the infinitely deep and realized, the clutter of reality. It’s like the most powerful figures in this fictional world are looking out at the overwhelming reality beyond their pages and panel borders, confronting just how small they really are compared to the non-fictional world …
Might just be me, I dunno.
Having the inkiest #inktober yet! #yarnsofthefriskyfilly
