while im posting pet photos, here's Spook, Lily's sister :)

I don't have as many photos of her bc she used to be really really shy (and still hides a lot) and she mostly just likes hanging out with my mom, but my mom wasn't home for a few months recently so Spook came out of her shell and hung out with me a bit more. Every morning before school I would get up early so I could sit on the couch with her. Since my mom's been home Spook has gone back to sleeping with her so couch time doesn't happen anymore but I will always cherish those few months it did.

if you've lost a pet recently I want you to know it does get better and it does get easier. it never stops hurting and it always hurts just as bad, yes, but eventually you learn to live with it, and eventually you're able to talk about your memories with them without crying. eventually you'll even find yourself smiling again and that joy you felt around them comes back. it isn't just an aching sadness forever. the ache does stick around, unfortunately, but the joy comes back eventually, too.
