the legally blonde mentality isnt just for law students. u can bring that attitude with you into every field of work. be the whimsical force of positive change. wear that neon outfit. snaps for us all.
this post was inspired by my boss telling me she couldnt "take me seriously" in a pair of dinosaur print overalls. sorry i have two degrees and a dope wardrobe. you dont need to take me seriously but You Will Take Me.
OP's an inspiration. bring on the whimsy movement!

Remembering that time I lowkey had a crush on one of my friends and I wanted to get them into tlt but they were resisting. Like they had read and loved Gideon but they only owned that one and then they didn't want to get Harrow from the library because they wouldn't be able to take time and write notes in it,, etc. So I of course did the rational scheming thing and bought paperbacks of Harrow and Nona to give to them. And I wrote little blurbs in the front covers and highlighted some of my favorite lines in HtN because I knew they would appreciate that even though it felt like baring my fucking soul. And then I got sick and they were like "I'm biking over to give you medical supplies and soup >:)" and I was like "I have something for you as well >:)" and then they texted me all kinds of theories during HtN that I gaslit them about and I actually ended up reading a bunch of Nona out loud to them while we were camping together later.
Anyway long story short we just moved in together and our three year anniversary is in September. And we're still waiting on fucking Alecto. <3
Wishing this unique, incandescent joy on all humanity:

there’s a t-shirt that says “I survived a bad day and all I got was the rest of my life” and yeah I still think about it
To myself, raised in an environment that glorified and romanticized restriction and suffering:
There is no victory in skipping dinner, or lunch, or breakfast, or morning coffee, or dessert.
There is no victory in refusing heaters and air conditioners and fans and heated blankets.
There is no victory in denying yourself sleep, or showers, or movement, or water, or a comfortable bed, or taking the elevator vs. the stairs.
There is no victory in refusing pain meds and heating pads and ice packs and medical help.
There is no victory in punishing yourself needlessly, in telling yourself that this pain you feel is because you are bad to the core and deserve it.
There is no victory in choking back your laughter and your tears, to keep an imagined equilibrium of safety that is really just a dry, cracked, empty, endless emotional desert.
You are here. You are in this body, and this body is yours. You deserve good things. You are alive, and that is messy and loud, and messy and loud are okay.
It’s okay to live abundantly. It’s okay to make mistakes, it’s okay to indulge. This paralysis of self-punishment, self-restriction, self-loathing is not healthy or good for you.
now that the world cup is out of the way can we focus on me instead

I remember when I was younger, anytime I watched a movie where the characters have to kill a scary monster/alien, I always thought the act of killing it was intended to be part of the horror. Like there’s this amazing creature that we’ve never seen before, and maybe under different circumstances we could’ve coexisted with it, but it’s trying to attack you and you have to defend yourself, but by destroying it you also destroy the ability to ever understand it and that’s sad and is supposed to make you feel conflicted.
It was not until well into my adulthood that I realized most people do not have complicated feelings about movies where people have to kill a scary alien monster, nor is that necessarily meant to be part of the narrative (unless it very obviously is). They just want the scary thing to die because it’s scary. I don’t have a real conclusion to this I just started thinking about it for some reason.
