don’t think about liara at the time of andromeda. don’t think about her being 700-ish years old, with a daughter or two, telling them stories about their mom shepard, savior of the galaxy. don’t think about liara never taking another bondmate. don’t think about shepard waiting for liara in the afterlife, surrounded by everyone she ever knew and loved except for her bondmate and their children. don’t think about liara wearing shepard’s dogtags throughout the rest of her life. don’t think about it.

don’t think about shepard fading from the public’s memory as each generation of humans, salarians, quarians, and turians pass on. don’t think about how liara slowly becomes one of the only living beings to truly remember shepard as she actually was, not as the mysterious hero of the galaxy that most people know her as. liara’s bondmate is memorialized in textbooks and statues, in recordings of ‘i’m commander shepard, and this is my favorite store on the citadel,’ in glitchy AIs and computer voices. but none of them help fill the hole in liara’s chest. none of them are really her. liara t’soni-shepard, shadow broker, powerful asari matriarch, is never seen without that set of dog tags around her neck. finally passing on to the embrace of the goddess with a smile on her lips, knowing she’s about to be with her bondmate again, for good this time.
