you're not upset that The Amazing Digital Circus "wasn't explicit enough" with its trans storylines -- or if you are, you're silly. let trans women tell trans storylines the way we want to, about whatever period in our lives we choose to, even if that is pre-cracking/transition.

what you're REALLY upset about is that incredibly explicit trans storylines are less frequent, which is of course a problem, but it doesn't make sense to blame trans women writing stories about important parts of our lives for that. that's the industry (& cis people's) fault. i find it pretty baffling & insulting to be frustrated at a trans woman's art about being repressed & in the closet not being about something else that personally makes you feel happier. that feels demonstrably cruel, transmisogynist & tbh, anti-art.

maybe if more trans women were allowed to tell trans storylines (and if fans weren't, y'know, hypercritical about how those trans storylines should always and exclusively look) then we would get more diverse & different-looking stories about being trans. but complaining that a trans storyline by a trans woman who was sent to conversion therapy is about pre-cracking/repression rather than being out is fucking abysmally closeminded.
