Iāve been gone for a while due to being under the weather mentally for quite some time, and Iām re-organizing a lot of RP stuff I wanna post up here, BUT I had had had to show you my Red Mage BIRB MAGE.
Gaufrier was pretty certain this fortress was different than the others heād visited. While unintentionally on a tour of various Garlean fortifications, heād become familiar with the general shape of things like doors, or details on walls. When you donāt have much to do, you spend it analyzing your space. But this place was different.
Ā He noted the walls were a dingy brown, but still metal, and the occasional light could be seen coursing through parts of it. He was also pretty sure that he was somewhere high up. Could be a tower, could be a mountain, maybe even higher. All he knew was that he had to take an airship to get here, the lurch of momentary weightlessness always made him a little nervous. You canāt hide that behind a blindfold.
Ā But something feltā¦unusual about this place. Sure there were Garleans all over, it was their fortress, but the mood here was different. When he had arrived, guards took him to a set of side rooms, and there conducted what felt like a basic chirugeonās exam. They poked and prodded, measured temperatures, drew blood, and a whole host of other minor tests. Gaufrier wasnāt sure why they needed to do that, but he had a feeling it didnāt bode well.
Now, he sat in a quiet, dark, dingy cell with a couple of very uncomfortable cots and very poor customer service. Hoping his stay wouldnāt extend for too long.
Thatās when he heard a voice from the other side of the metal door blocking his only way out.
āThink me not so cruel, at least -- Youāll have some company.ā The womanās voice sounded familiar, but he didnāt have time to think further as the door creaked open and a Miqoāte woman was unceremoniously tossed inside. The Miqoāte stumbled, but maintained her footing and quickly turned, snarling at the Garleans at the door. The woman in an orante uniform and helmet glanced towards Gaufrier.
Ā āCompanyā¦for the now, at any rate.ā She lightly laughs, turning on her heel as the other Garleans close and lock the door with a heavy metal sound. The Miqoāte sulks over to a corner of the cell the two now inhabited, her ears, low to her head.
āTheyāre as pleasant as ever.ā He sighed, hoping to help break the ice with his newfound roommate. Her ears twitch to the sound, and she looked toward the voice and cautiously approached the young boy. She pauses.
āMmā¦first time Iāve ever met a Garlean before.ā She frowned, her ears still lowered, āI have to say their reputation... precedes them.ā Gently releasing her clenched fists, her face softens as she looked to the boy again.
āā¦Are you hurt?ā she says, quietly.
He didnāt want to cause for concern. By this time, heād gotten used to the Garleanās behaviors.
āOh! Ah, no... not really. Minor bumps and whatnot.ā Gaufrier fidgeted, and shifted his weight between his feet, āWhat of you? Are you okay... miss?ā
It was around this time Gaufrier realized a detail about the Miqoāte in front of him - she was definitely with child. He attempted to stifle any wide eyed looks, as well as displeasure. The Garleans clearly had little sympathy for anyone they considered their enemy, a fact that did not sit well with Gaufrier moreso than before. He could take bumps and bruises, but her? How dare they!
The Miqoāte brushed her hair out of the way, and sighed, ā...Shaken, and rather worried for my friends, but Iāll be alright. Thank you.ā
Gaufrier looked around the cell, there wasnāt much he could do to make her comfortable, but he figured heād try. āMaybe try resting on these... er... these bed-like things?ā He motioned to the cots, and she smiled lightly.
āAs should you, hm?ā she gently sat on one of the makeshift beds, trying to mask their discomfort, her tail curling around her. āPray, tell me, how long have these walls detained you?ā
āIāve been here a few days,ā Gaufrier sighed. He didnāt want to tell her of his experiences - heād rather not give her further reasons to be agitated. The Miqoāteās ears flickered, as she looked deep in thought.
ā...So you arrive shortly before my friends and I did. Might I ask your name?ā she looked to Gaufrier, who immediately flushed red.
āOH GOSH,ā he sputtered, and scrambled to a standing position, āRIGHT. My name!ā and clumsily bowed in the Miqoāteās direction. āMy name is Gaufrier Lespoir! Itās a pleasure to meet you! Even if itās unfortunate circumstances.ā
The Miqoāte laughs, āA pleasure, despite our current circumstances, Gaufrier.ā She nods towards him, āI am Upa Zuhve.ā
I apologize for the lack of any replies or updates, or heck, even being on the game. I have not been feeling the best, so once Iām able to, Iāll be back on my feet (and answering those asks finally).Ā

they looks as if they were made by somebody who never saw how a bird really looks and works, add the chunkiness from early vidya game graphics and it always looked awkward..
ācept theyāre not supposed to be typical large flightless birds, like emus or ostriches. Rather, they are based on prehistoric dinosaurs like terror birds.
āthis bird is badly designed because it doesnāt look like a real world bird and i have no imagination or patience for anything thatās not designed to mirror realityā
I think we can give chocobo a pass. Have you ever heard of the Giant Moa? They were a 7ft tall flightless bird that died out in the 16th century, and they looked ducking rediculous. Weirder things have walked the earth. Chocobo are wholly plausible for a real animal.
Iām gonna stay out of all the arguments in the post, but Iād like to present the following, as a long-time connoisseur of chocobos and their absolute adorableness:

FINALLY started drawing some of those RP pictures Iāve been intending to. I have some with the lovely new peoples I met, but I wasnāt near my computer for reference so those will come later.

The Riskbreakersā third annual Starlight Celebration event will be taking place on Friday, December 23rd from 6:00 PM EST to midnight!
All are welcome! We look forward to celebrating this time of gratitude and charity with the rest of the community. Starlight attire is encouraged but by no means required. There will be plenty of roleplaying; however, those wishing to drop by OOC are more than free to do so.

Should you encounter someone under the fistletoe - be they a loved one, a stranger, or a sworn rival - you must fight in the basement*.
And if meeting under the fistletoe requires too much chance for your liking, the sparring ring will be open for the entirety of the evening! Bring your friends and family and enjoy a night of combat and merriment for all!
*As per the house rules, we do allow people to abstain from fighting in the basement should they so choose. We will remember them in our devotions to Rhalgr.
Some quick rules for the fistletoe:
We will allow whichever rules both parties prefer - be it Grindstone, RISK house rules, or scripted - but if there is a crowd, we ask that you adhere to two hits to a win instead of three.
Friendly, responsible combat only! Absolutely no attacking with the intent to injure or maim, and no reckless fighting! If we think you or your character are getting carried away, we will give you a warning before asking you to leave the ring.
Use of the ring will be on a first-come first-served basis; however, we will give guests priority over Riskbreakers.
